Default Phantom Grip LSD now with pricing!

In order not to ressurect an old thread I opted to start a new one. How many pople would be intrested in doing a group buy for the Phantom Grip LSD? If so post here and I can see about negotiating with them.

It depends on how many you get together.
retail =$349.95

5 units would be $329.00
10 units would be $309.00
20 units would be $289.00

limited slip differential...only allows so much spin before it cuts it off... good for high horsepower and gaining traction-

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm

Lots of information on differentials, including the differences between open differentials and various limited slip diffs and lockers.

Pretty much it comes down to this, when a car wturns the inside wheel travel a shorter distance than the outside travels. (think small circle, inside tire. Large circle outer tire). Well they both trvel in the same amount of time but 2 different distances. In order to do this, the tires travel at different speeds. If it was alocked hub and the tires DIDNT travel at different speeds, then the inside tire would constantly spin when making turns. This is why we dave differentials. It allows the tires to spin at the needed rates .

With a LSD there is a clutch system (dont know the name of it) that determines how much pressure needs to be exerted in order to take away or give power to a certain wheel to make it not slip. With springs it determines how much torque to give to each wheel to keep it from spinning but not standing still. (from the wheels that slip to the wheels that grip, rememeber the commercial?) So in straight line performance, initial torque will be equal, as one tire shows its going to slip, it transfers torque to the opposing tire, and evens out the available torque from the wheels that slip, giving to the wheels that grip. (one tire on ice, one on not, your car wont sit there and send all the torque to the easy tire, on ice. It will send the torque to the harder to spin tire, dry pavement.

Yeah that probably makes no sense. Please tell me where i went wrong and if its correct.....Im done....

It's a pain to install, about an 8-9 out of 10 on the scale IMHO.

It's a decent "LSD", but I'd like the quaife a lot more... that's the real setup, but it comes with the real LSD pricetag as well.
