I will be getting my Scion tC in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone can answering a couple of small questions:

I noticed you can lock the glove compartment on the tC. Does it have it's own key or do you use the same one as the car key>

Are the windows power up AND down on both the driver and passenger seats?

Can you fold the mirrors on a tC? (By mirrors i mean the ones in the outside.)

My friend bought a silver tC and his keys were silver....yet online they only show black keys that look identical to the toyota keys. Why is that so?

1) you use the same key to start the engine for the glovebox. I'm thinking though that you can only use one side of the key though for some reason.

2) yes, the windows are auto up and down on both sides.

3) no you can't fold the power mirrors.

4), the keys are silver, just like most keys, except the unlock/lock device is mated on the top of the key.

Does anyone know where I can find a picture of a Scion tC's key style? Or can take a picture of their tC car keys? I just need to see if we're talking about the same ones.

Another questions I forgot to ask was: Does the AM/FM/CD-Player change to the 10 different illuminating colors or is that only for the AM/FM/6-Disc Changer?

 

the silver keys are for the "Scion Security" feature and have the remote locks and alarm buttons on the key. if you do not get the scion security feature, you will get the black key with a clear colored key fob.

Now is that what my key would look like if I were to get a tC? or do I need to get the Scion security for it to look like that?... I know, I know...most of you are probably thinking why do you even care what the keys look like....it's because i have the corolla keys and they're black and ugly...and they look so cheap and when people see my keys i don't want them to think i drive a tercel or an echo !!!

 

I didn't get the security system. I got a base tC with no options. Those are the keys I got plus a 'valet key' (no keyless entry) that will not unlock the glovebox. I wasn't prepared to pay the extra money for the security system, but you might get a different setup if you opt for that.

You're going to be very happy in a tC. There are a lot of little details in the car that make it feel much more expensive than it is. Good luck!

 

Yes, you get the same key either way I believe
