Default A Possible Newb Solution

Hey all,
About a year ago, I was looking for a walkthrough for a friend of mine to help him with a transmission flush on his 06' Tc... I searched here... found a diy post... and emailed him a link. Well, needless to say, since that day, I have had dozens or request for help and i sometimes find myself searching for hours online for walkthroughs or explinations for myself or others. I then thought to myself "how awesome would it be if every DIY was found in one location..." Well, I know that will never happen, but what are the odds that someone would try...? This site is brand new and is still fully under construction, but i wanted to let you guys in on it. Please give me any advice or recomendations for what you think would help you for the future and I will try to make it happen. Also, if i missed a few good DIY walkthroughs from here (and i know i did), email me anything you got. Thanks

- diyaftermarket.com - (FYI, the scion page is the only one that has been played with at all)

p.s. sorry about the long post.

So I'm not sure if you know this or not... but there was one place to find all of the How To stuff and Tech articles before the website changeover. No one has put the new system in place yet to capture all of these things (whatever that will be).

But honestly I'm not going to go to some other site to find a DIY or tech article that is listed here. I'm going to look here and find it here. Going to some other website that just takes me back here is an extra step I'm never going to take.

Well, like i said, this site is just started, and it will not be linked back to just here, this is just were it started. The eventual goal will be a database driven site with the walkthroughs listed there and not only for tc's, but for other cars as well. It may take some time to get there, but whats being worked on on the backend right now is much easier to use. althouth i dont like the taste of your pee in my cheereos , i appreciate the critisim. I will keep everyone update when i publish the changes I have made so far.

i think you should just give up, plus the long paragraphs will get you no where in the life of SL.

I understand by seeing your red bar that you live and breath SL, but not everyone will die for this forum... so no, I'm not just going to give, I havent even started, but thanks....

And as far as my paragraphs, I'm pretty sure people on SL arent illiterate, its 1 paragraph, not 1 novel. The people who cant read a paragraph, are the ones who post things like "are ebay turbo kits worth it?".

Also, lets face it, even if SL had EVERYTHING here (which it doesn't), the search feature never gives you exactly what your looking for w/o having to read through 5 pages of inconclusive garbage.

...ok.

I have to admit, I havent been on this forum for a while, but I remember alot more postive people. I was kinda hoping for some critisism to help the production, not to try and stomp it... but i guess It is what it is.

This isnt a carebear site like other scion websites. A lot of the members decide to speak their minds, instead of sucking up and saying ZOMG THATZ SOO COOL when it really isnt.

I gave you criticism for your production. I told you not to do it. Why? Because imo its not worth the work when there is already a working system. Dont change something that isnt broken.

And yes the search feature works, one just has to know how to use it. Every time i needed to find something i found it either in the tech section or searching. It really isnt difficult.

Edit: Also dont get sad because people over the internet dont like your ideas. Deal with it.

I don't think that b/c one guy who has no accomplishments except for alot of time spent on sl tells me that its not a good idea that im going throw my hands up and go "____, didnt see that coming" and scrap the whole project.

We can argue all day about how well the search feature works with this site... but I'll just admit that if you know how to use it, for the most part it works. (not everyone knows how)

Just for the record, the majority of things that people have told me wouldnt work, has made me a very successful 22 year old. So I will take my chances and waste my time if it will help a few people out.

To the contrary, I'm not angry at all, just making an observation. I took the fact that you are on SL enough to get a full red bar + the fact that your are following my thread= not doing anything productive. then i took the afore mentioned + the fact that your next project (which is a turbo kit according to your sig) and concluded that if you were a real red blooded american, and successful, you would have bought it already... but you havent. = my previous post.

Now, i know you will probably just result to trying to knock me down again or say something lame like "im just waiting for my warrenty to run out" or something, but I know, and am ok with the truth. and you should be too.

I'm just sayin there's already site out there that when typed into google will provide the results for these. When I goto google and type in DIY Scion tC Clutch Install, what's would come up first your site or the link to scionlife? I'm pretty sure it would be scion life..........

How about that scionlife was the first link. Your site wasn't even on the first page....

And to be more specific your site wasn't even listed on the first 10 pages of google.

LOL its actually really easy to get that red bar full. And on the contrary you are the one with your facts wrong.

Ill lay it out for you because you need some help understanding.

1. Im following this thread because im bored, and you entertain me with your witty responses. Which in turn make me laugh.
2. Like you said my next mod is a turbo this is correct. If you also cared to see that im 19, a full time college student, with no job. I think you would understand why i dont have it yet. Guess im not full red blooded american, dude wtf are you a hick or something?
3. WHOA MAH WARRANTY BEING VOIDED? OH NOEZ!

2 can play this game.
