18's are everywhere.... just go to www.cardomain.com and do a search for TC and you'll have hundreds of pictures....

but if I were you I'd spend the extra grand or two on something that matters, like performance parts... like a short shifter, intake, full catback exhaust, header, draxxas S-pipe, and new tires for your already good set of aluminum alloy 17inch rims or throw in an entire new suspension in there....

or hell, if you REALLY want it for looks get a tasteful body kit, overlays for all the lights and tint... and a radar detector too so when cops see your "looks fast" car doing 40 in a 30 you'll know to slow down before you get pulled over....

but spending $1500+ on something that is just for looks and worsens the ride, throws your spedometer off, probably worsens performance with the added weight and adds a "prop me on cinderblocks, please" look just doesn't seem to be a good idea to me... but to each his own... that's what customizing is for.

Here's mine with the "factory" 18"s. Note to other members: NO I'M NOT GOING TO LOWER IT!. Everytime I post a pic of my car someone HAS to tell me to drop it. I've already got a 67 Bug that rides like a skateboard it's so low. Ride isn't why I won't lower it, it's my driveway, as the car is now, it does not scrape at all going up or down it, but, if I lower it, it sure as hell will and thus road rash will ensue on the front lip and rear end. The bug has gouged nice ditches in the street with it's exhaust flange so getting it in and out isn't a problem since 9 times out of 10 I manage to place it right into one of the gouges.

Anyways, pic, click on it for a larger version:

The ride itself with 18's is great and its not too flashy where i have to worry about being jacked. I don't think im gonna drop either ...too many scrapping problems that i dont need

For around here you should get 18's... Chicago potholes will mess up 19's good.

The wheels and tires were acquired after I bought the TC, these are the Enkei 18” offered by TRD. The tires are made by Bridgestone, the Fuzion ZR 1 Directional Tuner tires.

AS I mentioned in another post, when I got my 18" Super 7's I got Toyo Proxies4's with them.

that's a pic of my 18" rim - not dropped (waiting for the stupid springs from my dealer) and with my freshly painted caliper. Still sitting outside waiting to dry, it's colder than Id like for it today, so I'm gonna give it all 24 hours to dry.

And then I've still gotta do the rears!

18's don't change the speedometer result more than a mph or so...after all you can get 18's from the factory I doubt that they would worsen ride quality too much, you're not talking a huge foorprint difference there, but then again ride quality is always subjective to the person itself.

If I am not mistaken, the factory 18's are 1lb lighter than the stock 17's? I'm pretty sure that's true. Either way, what changes performance is when there is more weight further from teh center of the wheel. After having the stock 17's for a bit and going to the stock 18's - i'd say it isn't too much of a difference either way. And as for ride quality... a little bit, but short sidewalls also help you corner better... I'd rather have a slight edge on cornering over a slight edge on speed if it came down to that decision.

But like the 1st replyer said, that's what customizing is all about!!
