just ran over a pothole! why me?!
what should i do? i heard the city could pay for it. is it true?

any suggestion? please help!

 

Holy crap man that must of been a deep one,best bet would be to check yellow pages for a rim repair shop to see if it can be fixed if not get a new one.

i just damaged two of my wheels in a pot hole, but nowhere as bad as this!

Are your rims bronze or silver? Your rims are punishing you for not cleaning them.

Your like the 100th person on here to have their 5Zigen wheel bend like butter on a pot hole.

but good god I doubt ull get the city to pay for them. ur best bet would be to look around to see how much 1 wheel is worth.

 

at that point your better off getting one wheel

 

I would try to get some type of money for the rim from the city. I blew a tire once on 79 here in western pa. Luckily it was right at the end of a construction zone and they covered it. They will give you a hard time but they may still cover it. Try to get it fixed without buying a new rim....they would most likely pay for that if its cheaper then the rim. GL

 

ouch, you can get the city to pay for it but you have to
1. first get the rim repaired at a rim shop and pay out of your pocket
2. take a pic of the pothole you hit, what time and date it happened as well as it's location.
3. send a copy of the receipt that you already paid to have your rim fixed as well everything listed on #2 above and just mail it to the city.
the progress might take some time but if they do go on with it then you will recieve a check and the city will go out and fix the pothole you had hit.

 

OMG, I would cry. Hey AcidDrop, what if it's a irreplaceable wheel? Lol.

 

not sure if they would pay you back for a new rim unless you get a paper by a rim shop saying that it can't be replaced for so and so problem so a new rim is required and if the pothole is really bad enough to cause that damage since there is alot of fraud now a days.

 

i had a friend who bent his rim like that and he got the city to pay .. he took actual video of people hitting the same pothole.

 

i was going like 40ish... it was a pretty big dip. i didnt see it cuz it was raining..

i took pics of the pothole and the street; ill post it up later... do you guys think it is worth it hassling the city to pay for it? i wouldnt mind getting 1 rim which is $200.. but the thing is i dont wanna pay 200 out of my pocket.

 

yea cant make it out, it was raining lol. it looks like they were fixing the pothole, but didnt finish..iono

 

oh wow the light reflection off the rain in the first pic makes it look like nothing...then the last pic really shows its bad

 

In the pics it looks just like a bump/dip thing. Not a pothole. How deep was it? I mean those pics it is very hard to see so i would recommend pics on a clearer day as well. But use those to say how the weather affected your vision on seeing the pothole.

 

please do not try to get that fixed, you need a new rim
