When I get my tC, Indigo Ink, I was thinking of having the stock rims powder coated black or a charcoal color...anyone else have any luck doing this? Also, any idea what it may cost?? I know it depends on who does it but any info is helpful...

 

it shouldn't cost too much, i would think about $50 to $100 a rim. that's what my friend's shop charges. It is a cheap alternative if you don't have the money for another set yet.

 

The place by my shop in Ca. does it for about $40.00 for powder coating per wheel & about $80.00 for powder coating the face & polishing the lip of the rim. So im expecting for you to pay anywhere from maybe $40-$100 per wheel or maybe less for everything depends on the shop.

 

Don't forget to add up the cost for for taking the tires off putting them back on and vavle stems etc...

 

I think someone should crome the factory rims... both the 17's and 18's I want to see what they would look like. Can you chrome alloys???

 

I have seen in some pictures that the stock rims actually come chrome now. It depends on where you buy them..on cardomain i saw a BCP with chrome stock rims. If i find that pick i will try and post it...if i can figure out how to post pics HA!

 

I couldn't find it on Cardomain, but chrome wheels are not a factory option. It could be a dealer chroming the stock wheels, or it could have been done by the owner.

 

What do you guys think? White factory wheels with super white scion tc???? anyone want to photoshop for me?

 

I think white wheels don't look good on a white car. It just looks gross imo.

I've paid $40 per rim for powdercoating in the past. The $40-$100 range seems reasonable.

 

I kinda agree but show me some and ill tell you for sure.

 

I just got my 19's Powdercoated Black. They charged me $50 a wheel, that included all the prep work.

i went to a powder coater..they wanted 75 a wheel.
and 150 to powder coat an the injen short ram.. crazy huh?

They are nice...but i kinda like the stock look, makes the car more sporty..but i will admit those are nice..i wonder if they had a local shop chrome them out or if they came stock...i will have to research this.

 

how do you go about finding a place that'll powder coat??? my tc is super white and i've been looking at white wheels. i saw some that looked like the stock ones in white and i was thinking about buying them-they're gonna be like $200 each. i love the way the stock rims look, so if i can get them done in white that'd be awesome.
