pre-installed subwoofers
i called up a dealer and tehy told me the only tc they have left is one that has the subwoofer pre-installed. I am on a tight budget, and i really don't see myself needing this subwoofer. Is it easily done to remove it from the car? do you think that the dealer will take it off?
btw, i also really really dont want to wait 2 more weeks just to have the car, that is why i will get this car either way.

Hmmm...they might remove it, but chances are they're going to sell the car with it whether you buy it or someone else does. They're not going to lose a sale just because of an installed part. Someone will take it.

the subwoofer is over priced. DONT get it. however if somebody might take the car then get it. I bought my overpriced system for less than half of the parts retail. for $900 I got an amp, two subs, box, and 3 sets of component speakers approx retail i would have paid was over 2k. the dealer sells that subwoofer alone for 500 and it sounds okay but not that great. btw im running everything on the stock stereo and the system kicks some baaad bass.
its up to you. i called around and finally located my xb..i only drove 25min difference from the other dealer. look around and get what you want no what they want to sell you. it ur money and if ur in a budget be wise about it.

My tC came with the neon lights, my wife didn't want them, so we asked the dealer to take them off. They said no, but they added the cost of the lights to my trade in so we didn't pay for them.
Maybe the dealer will deal work with you? Couldn't hurt to ask.

Some dealers are a lot cooler than others ->
Corona Scion had a Flint Mica tc with most of the options I wanted (GFX/Leather) and I had the cash to buy it right there, however they had had the stock rims chrome-dipped (which looked like ____) and wanted $1200 for it. I let her know that I wanted the EMX 18's instead and she said no, they can't do it.
I get a call 2 days later (hmm, guess no one wants to pay for a car your boss loaded with crap huh?) and she tells me they can put the rims on (the 18's). However they wanted to charge me $1800 for the new rims (yes $300 install fee) AND the $1200 for the original rims because she said "that's the way they came from the factory".
I let her know that was bull____ and convinced myself I can continue waiting on the car I wanted rather than take the dealer's lies.
I just am sick of the local dealers that add $6k in options (crappy ones like chrome dipped stock rims) and then tell you it came that way from the factory. (Carona Scion, South Coast Scion, Scion of Orange...I'm looking in your direction....)
That's why I went with Power Scion out here in Irvine, even though I have to wait a bit longer, its worth it to work with a dealer that isn't going to insult my intelligence and lie to my face. Also Gosch Scion in Hemet was VERY honest and helpful.
Sorry, had to rant.
