Default Problem with tc hatch?

Anybody else notice this on the tc's? If you open the hatch after you wash the car (or after it rains) that all the water runs into the back seat. I cant seem to find any posts on this so not sure if anyone else is having this same problem.

I agree with you, usually I use an air hose to blow the excess water and than lift the hatch. But yeah I agree with you on that, Im thinking on just laying a trash bag over the seat, so they don't get f(** so early.

Does the tC have a lot of corks like this? My sister is thinking of buying one and I just want to let her know if there is anything she should be aware of.

I've never gotten my seats wet but I usually have a rag or towel ready to wipe off excess water as soon as I open it.

ok cool, im not the only one. good idea with blowing it out. ill try that next time. beats opening it up real slowly and shoving towels in the two corners where it pours water.

Ditto. I have noticed water run down the channels on either side of the opening and off the back of the car (as I assume it was designed to do).

BTW, this is posted in the wrong forum. Should be moved to "General Discussion (tC)"

I havent' gotten the interior wet by opening the hatch after washing either. The water followed the channels well.

No, it's not in the wrong forum. If anything, you're in the wrong forum. You see, here in AZ we like to discuss interesting topics such as racism, water leakage and other pressing issues of our time.

mine definetly doesnt channel. there are little tabs on the rubber so when you open the hatch the water pours half way down and stops on the little tabs; which forces all the water into the car. i have an appt on the 18th for the clock screen that's not working right so i may have them look at that while they have my car for the day. its all good tho. if thats the only problem im cool with it.

when you finishing washing, make sure you dry the rear hatch really good, especially at the bottom of the window, there is a lip there that catches water, if you get all that water off then it won't run into your car, right now i can't open it unless i want to hold the hatch, both of my rear hatch supports are shot, and the hatch is heavy as heck, the dealer had to special order new supports and will take 2 weeks

i've basically just learned to open up the hatch slowly after washing it.. or whenever it's wet.. it's typical for hatchbacks.. back in the late 80's and early 90's.. hatches always did this.. mustangs were notorious for this..

just open it slowly and the water won't bounce into the interior but go down the water channels..
