Default Problem, well problems

My dome and map lights tend to flicker all the time when its on and it doesnt stop. They are all LEDs, used to work fine but recently, they've been acting weird. And also, the light in my odometer flickers when i drive or at a stopping point. Oh and another problem, everytime im driving and i put the turn signal on, my music skips, but goes back to normal after. I have the stock HU with stock speakers. 7 out of ten times the music will skip. Does anyone know what these problems are and how to fix it? thanks!

ps. i have an 07 with 9xxx miles

So is it all of your lights/electrical stuff then? Any trouble starting the car? Like does it take an extra second or two to turn over than it did before?

Could maybe have your alternator tested (and maybe battery too).

theres no trouble starting the car or anything... seems to be fine.. i dont think its all of my lights cause the trunk light doesnt flicker or anything... the odo seems to be the only one in the gauges that is actually flickering...should i go check with the dealership and have them test it out for me?

Couldn't hurt... especially if you can reproduce it for them to see.

If your dealership sucks though, they might try to give you some BS about the LEDs in the dome lights causing problems.

I think electrical tests can take a while, depending on how in depth they go. I'm not really sure.

Take the LED dome lights out and see if it stops. It's called basic troubleshooting.

If it's still flickering with all aftermarket lights removed, check battery voltage and connections. If the ODO still flickers, take it in and have it checked. Something ain't right.

hhmmm.. i would put the stock lights back on before you go to the dealership, that can def be a reason for them to refuse warranty work! good luck

yeah return it to stock parts.. if problem keeps going, let the dealer replace whatever. But yeah they'll use something as simple as an aftermarket LED as the cause of the problem and refuse warranty. don't let that happen

It's a cheap excuse about an aftermarket LED. We all know that. But they just love to make you pay $$$

i put my stock headlights back on...and at night when i put on my blinkers, my headlights would flicker and then dim a bit...it seems like its taking away power from the headlight so the blinker could function.. really weird...im getting it checked out next friday hopefully itll go well

Try doing the Big 3 upgrade. Did you have a harness for your HIDs

Check out this thread: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...r=asc&&start=0

Starting from post #7 is talk about the Big 3 as well as a couple links to a DIY

The idea is you upgrade your ground wires so electricity can flow better which usually gets rid of dimming problems

^^^ i understand that grounds could help with overall dimming due to a demand on the electrical system caused by a huge audio system.

but.. the original poster is talking about just a normal setup with flickering lights, etc. This is definitely a larger problem than just upgrading the grounds. Definitely should get that car to the dealer, something is shorting out!
