Default Purchasing advice

Hey everyone, I'm new here and have been reading quite a bit, glad I found this site.

My wife wants a 08 tC, in silver, and auto. Im planning on upgrading to the big spoiler, ground effects, and maybe fog lights. What do you think? Any advice will be appreciated, I live in Sacramento, CA. More mods in the future, but I think this is a good start.

I would personally go with the lip spoiler. But thats just my opinion. If you like the look of the pedestal spoiler then by all means...

oh yeah, welcome to the fam!

yea lip spoiler. I personally think that Silver Looks sexy with a stock body, a nice drop, and some nice gm rims. I was planning on doing a bunch of mods but after I got my wheels I think a simple drop is going to finish it off. Other Colors i think look hot with bigger things done(IE Lip kits, big wheels, Pedestal wing) such as white.

A lot of accessories you can get cheaper at sites like trdsparks.com or mcgeorgeparts.com. If you were to get a tC, just get it with the spoiler and ground effects. You really don't save that much $$$ if you were to buy them later. (Because you would have to find somebody to install them for you.) I've dealt with trdsparks and they are really good!

Almost all accessories can be purchased from dealers at a discount after the sale. Not all dealers--but some. I got several things from Sullivan Brothers Toyota doing business as Toyotamall1 on eBay. They even took my $50 gift card when I got my TYC tails. I had to pay shipping, but not tax so saved quite a bit over retail.

Ok first off thanks for responding, I spoke with the wife and she agrees with the lip spoiler, thanks for the heads up. Will do ground effects (lip kits????) and lower it now, can you give me more info on this? Will I bottom out at speed bumps? How much installed? All i know is she said yes to lower it. Thanks

The Ground Effects kit is a lip kit yes. No idea on bottoming out. I don't have my springs yet.

Check out my friend's ride. He's come a long way since he first got the car.

There's a company that makes a replica of the lip spoiler and a larger version of the lip spoiler, both look nice. I like the larger one a little more, because you actually notice it more. Fox and I both have the same spoiler, which is made by Viniati, and we both love ours.

If you're worried about bottoming out, don't go lower than the TRD or TEIN H-techs. Any lower with the lip kit, you may scrape on the more aggressive speed bumps, dips, and steep driveways.

Look up the VRD foglights. A lot of people feel that they look more factory than the dealership option, plus the VRD fogs use the factory wiring, so it's a simple install (all tC's come from the factory pre-wired for the optional foglights and VRD includes the factory harness and switch).

Also, don't waste your money on the paint protection, undercoating, or extended warranty.
