Question about aftermarket alarms
i just got an audioshop to install a CARBINE alarm onto my tC. and i have one problem with it. When i unarm the alarm it doesn't unlock both doors and the rear hatch. is there a way to make the alarm unlock all the doors with just hitting the alarm button once.
i'm having a hard time with this. if i unarm the alarm twice sometimes it unlocks both doors, but not always. Is there something that the car shop just didn't do. please help me out because now i'm using my alarm pad to disarm the alarm then the key to unlock both doors..
sorry if this is kind of confusing.
thanks in advance for any help

i don't know what they did with yours, they may have forgot to put in a relay for the passenger door lock and rear hatch or it could be something with the wiring. take it back to the and tell them whats wrong and they should fix it. my alarm opens everything just pushing it once so it is do-able
There's no extra relay needed. I'm not sure if that alarm allows a bitwriter (i'm pretty sure only DEI alarms have that port), but you need to find a way to change the unlock to "double pulse", as it takes 2 pulses to unlock both doors (just like on your OEM keyless).
EDIT: Relays in cars for door locks would only be necessary in a 5 wire system, there is no relays necessary for a normal system. I hope your alarm shop was smart enough to diode isolate the door triggers as well. You'll know if they didn't if it goes off after a few hours.
EDIT EDIT: Relays may be needed if you have to change the alarm pulse from positive trigger to negative. I work with DEI's and those sense what kind of pulse is necessary, so you'll never need too. Maybe in cheaper alarms though..
