Default Question about AutoGlass for tC

Hi all, the passenger side window on my tc was running off the track. I took the door panel apart and checked the track and glass. Seems the plastic piece that holds the glass pane and connects to the track was broken. Does anyone know if that piece is normally come with the glass pane or if its something you can order from the scion dealer?

do you mean where the bottom of the glass connects to the regulator? if so, i believe that plastic only comes with the glass. you can always glue it back. are you out of your warranty?

Yes, that is the piece I am talking about. I am out of my warranty. Currently at 37,--- miles, so I am out of the full warranty period. I also had the window replaced some time ago because someone broke it when the broke into my car. Thanks for reply, I'm still hoping that I can buy one from the dealer .

the same thing happened to me. when i replaced my window the glass company replaced with an aftermarket window (PPG glass i believe). i ended up going back to the glass company because i had a warrenty from them and they replaced it for me free of charge. if you have warrent from the company that did your glass i would go back to them.

if you can try to get them to get a window from toyota. the head service guy at the glass company found out that the aftermarket window didn't make the clips very good and they broke very easily.

Thanks for the replies guys. I normally do all the servicing myself because I don't have the time or the money to take it to the dealer. I was hoping they would have the part, putting it in doesn't seem very hard. Thanks for the info about the aftermarket clips TxtC112, I will keep that in mind. I will also see if I can find the guy that did my glass previously to see if there is some kind of warranty or how much it would cost for him to come down and do it. Thanks again for the information guys.

Ok, so I called up the toyota dealership. Apparently that part only comes on the glass, which they said costs 210 dollars. So I'm gonna buy a stick of plastic and fabricate my own. Hopefully its as easy as it seems .
