Are you sure its not your Maintenance Required light? That will blink at start up as you approach the mileage when you need an oil change. When you get to the mileage it will stay on steady. If that's all it is, just go in for your free oil change (if you have any left) and they will reset it...or reset it yourself. There are many threads around here that show you how to do it. Keep us posted!

*EDIT* If it is your CEL, did you do any mods recently?? If your car is bone stock and still under warranty just take it to the dealership and let them pull the code. It will be no charge.

Yeah, it's prolly the Maint Req light. To reset that, press the odometer button down, then turn on the car. You will see 5 dashes on the odometer. You need to hold the button down until those dash's go away (approx 5 seconds), then you are good to go.

Oh, and change your oil too. ;)

time for your oil to make a fetus, get oiled up, and head out... Replace it with Synthetic!

The maint light will start blinking like that 1000 miles before the recommended interval, and will stay on after the end of the interval, which, by default is 5000 miles. Follow the steps in your manual to reset it.

The CEL is a different light.

well i just got my oil changed not long ago, um ive done about 3500 on the car since ive got it... ive never noticed the light blink. its always stayed on for a sec when all the lights turn on when the car starts then it goes away like the rest, but now im noticing it blinks like 3 or 4 times then goes away... ill double check what light it is and try that reseting thing and see if that does it!

if they didnt reset it when the oil was changed, then it will still come on when it is programmed to. It simply counts mileage and lights the light if x miles have passed. IT doesnt know if you have changed the oil unless you reset it.
