Default Question on sense line attachment to stock HU

I've searched hi and low and found some vague mention of attachment of the line that will turn on the amp. I looked at the wiring diagram I downloaded of the sound system on the Tc, There are 3 lines showing on the power side of the HU.

1. a gray wire for ACC
2. a light blue wire which must be main power.
3. an orange wire going to the antenna amplifier.

In order to have the amp on only when the HU is on, seems like attaching to the gray or light blue won't do that. The amp will be on any time the car is on.

Now the orange wire should only be on when the HU is on since it is for the amplifier amp. Has anyone used that line?

Any input will be appreciated. My daughters Tc is coming in next week (she bought it herself) and I have to install the amp and 2 x 10" subs from her old car. I already know I have to purchase some line level converters and feed off the back speakers. Just trying to sort out the sense line before I start.

Thanks

I assume that it would work, alhough some factory systems have some sort of "overload protection" feature, where if you splice into it, it won't work. But I don;t see why you shouldn't give it a try, as it would only take about 5 minutes to do.

Here's a page from the subwoofer installation instructions. I know the sub is on whenever the car is on if you install it per the instructions. I plan on wiring a switch to the remote wire so I can turn it off.

Thanks,

Looks like the power antenna control would be the line to use to switch the amp. I'll have to check that out.
