Question for the tC owners....
I work in a bakery, make around $1100 take home. Have a house, 3 cars including tC, and pets (20). I pay the utility bill (180), 2 credit cards (100), cell phone (50), and cable bill (80). My monthly car payment is $225+100 insurance+insurance on 2 other cars, registration, gas (60), cigarettes (35), food (50) actually make that (120) I love sushi!, etc......at the end of the month there's $200 savings.
it is possible to have a new car, you just have to budget, budget, budget and sacrifice some things. I had a coworker that got her truck repossessed right at work, that is so imbarassing! The tC comes first and I make sure that is the first thing that gets paid.

I do web app support stuff at a marketing research company- pull down 2500/month (pre taxes). My insurance and car payment together come to about 4 bills a month, which isn't terrible. Also, in oregon there's 1) no sales tax, and 2) no penalty for early repayment of a loan. So i got a longer term for a smaller monthly payment, but if i come into some cash i can pay it off earlier no problem.
You definitely want to think ahead.... having a financial commitment of this magnitude means needing to be employed for the term of your loan (more or less) ... either that or being willing to sell your baby if you get laid off, and hoping you get enough to pay off your loan.

I've thought about working in a restaurant, but I never really acted on it. My dad did pizza delivery for Pizza Hut a while back, he said it sucks! So I never really plan on delivering pizzas. There is a Round Table just 2 blocks from me that is hiring for delivery drivers, I don't think I want to use my new car to deliver pizzas everywhere.
yeah today is my "first" day at work, i've been in training all week and haven't made squat!. the ppl i work with are averaging between $30-$60 on a slow nite. weekends and sunday mornings is more like $80-100+. and the more i think about it the more i want the car, but the way things are going with the job i honestly don't think i can afford it. i thank you guys for your input but it looks like i'm gonna have to grab a second job afterall...oh and with insurance and payment i would be looking at just over 4 bills.
You might want think about getting a loan through a Credit Union to if you can. I bought my car used for a buddy of mine and it only had 16K for mileage. I'm paying about the same for a new but it already had the rims and tires, tein springs, HIDs, head unit and axle back exhausts. Plus I end up get an extend warranty for 4 more years or 91K mileages bumper to bumper. I would shop around for the financing to see who's going to give you a better APR. I got 6.25% over 5 years and my with my warranty, an extra insurances I'm paying a little over 300.00, but I didn't but anything down either Definitely take your time and shop around with the lenders. Good luck hope you get what you want!!

Insurance being $155 monthly. so about $410 monthly for the car, then with gas....i'm guessing like at least $550 monthly total.
But again like Ack said, it depends heavily on the clientel and such.

My fiancee works for a bodyguarding firm that is based in SoCal, Studio City to be exact. So if any of you guys are looking for a good job that pays good starting, check out: www.gdbinc.com
Most details are in L.A., but there are lots over seas and in N.Y. There's one client in WA. But basically they will put you where they need you.
I think starting is around $45k a year, plus you get to carry a Sig 40/guns and be personal security for lots of celebrities, dignitaries, etc. Guaranteed, you will be working alot and get to travel. My fiancee did 4 months in London/Paris/Scotland on the Da Vinci Code movie. After 4 years he now makes $70k+ bennies.[/url]

well.. i started out drooling over my tc for 2 years while i ran my own nail business renting space in a salon here (not a lot of money in that if you work for yourself). now i've gone back to medical insurance billing been at this company for about 6 months and bought my tc with no downpayment and no trade in. my ex wrecked my old civic (theres a hole in the rear passenger door) so they were only going to give me $300 for it. i'm selling it to my boyfriend for a grand, that'll pay my payments for about 3 1/2 months and i can put more money into it ;) through a credit union, with gap insurance (for those pesky hurricanes) my payments are going to be about 360 a month.
