Question For tc Owners?
Today, I was at my dealership picking up my customize plate frame. I decided to walk around showroom and look at the Scions they had. I sat in the tc...I'm 5'4 female. I noticed how small it really is. I wore my baseball cap and the visor was actually hitting roof. I'm wondering how these tall guys can drive them? My 6'2 brother has hard time seeing the road in my xA in driver's and front passager seat. I also sat in xB, I felt very small in it. So these cars remind me of "Goldie Locks & Three Bears"
"Too small, too big, just right"
I'm 5'10" and with the seat mostly upright (I don't do the gangsta lean when driving) my head has about an inch of space. If I were taller, I could lean the seat back further, but for my height the tC is perfect.
If your 5'4" Man I cannot see you hitting the roof as I am 5'11" and have about 1 1/2 - 2 inches of clearance. Must have been another factor... My girl is about your height, she does not come close to the roof! Strange... Mabey it had the new $1800 dealer installed sparco booster seats for short people
The answer to your question....
Seat Adjustment...a beautiful benefit of innovation.
You see, the seat lets you adjust its position, up down, and all around...so whatever size you are, within reason, you can adjust the seat to a comfortable liking.
EOT.

even with seat adjustment, i still feel too tall for the tC. i'm only 5'6''. it's fine when i'm just sitting and driving, but if i'm reaching for something on the dash, my head can easily hit the roof where the sun visors are. i know there will be ppl saying "why are you leaning forward when you drive" etc etc. i'm just saying, if i do that, i'll hit my head. believe it or not, but our tC is taller and bigger, but have less head room than a civic coupe.
I'm 5 11, and I have my seat height adjusted so that it is at its highest position, then I have my seat as far back as possible and then my seat leaned back a little too. When I reach for the steering wheel my wrist touches the wheel. That is the safest driving position for distance to the steering wheel because it allows you full manueverability.
I reach for things in my glove box, the back seat and even sometimes the trunk and have not "hit" my head.
Some cars offer more head room than others. But room is exactly that...space that goes unused. Headroom is a nature of design asthetics and is a specification that ties in with windshield rake and aesthetics of the car outside.
Anyways, all arguments are of moot point.
