Hi everyone,
I just received the pink slip (Certificate of Title) for my new tC. I live in California. The title states that the make of the car is Toyota. Shouldn't it say Scion? I know that Scions are made by Toyota but it seems like Scion would be more appropriate. Also, I checked dmv.ca.gov but couldn't find out what any of the codes mean. For example:

Body Type Model = LB What is this? FYI - Celicas are listed as 2L.
Fuel = G?
Class = EA? FYI - Celicas are listed as FH.

Input anyone? -Jayme

 

I know the Fuel = G stands for normal gas. As for the other stuff not sure. Lift Back maybe for LB. EA I cant even guess.

 

No idea. Toyota Credit has my title for the next five years or so.

 

Everything has these listed as Toyota Scion, on my loan when I login it says
Make: Toyota
Model: Scion tC

Same with my insurance, I think toyota did that since even my loan says it.

 

Hmm... I guess no one else knows either. It seems really strange to me that the words Scion and tC are no where to be seen on the title of my car... -Jayme

WTF is an SCX?

Hey Jayme, I got my plates yesterday also from CA. I was looking at the paper and I was also wondering why it said Toyota, not Scion tC. But hey, maybe this will help the resale value I think I'll hold off on putting the plates for now...maybe I can avoid some red light camera and parking tickets

 

My dealer told me the Scions are all registered as Toyotas. The insurance company also follows this practice of calling it a Toyota.

 

Just taking a guess here but I think LB means Liftback?
And Fuel means Gallons. I know some cars are stated as Liters

Again, just taking a guess.

 

The X sometimes referrs to Delux in some models.
