Default R.I.P. My 2005 Scion tC

Few people asked me to post this here. I just copied and pasted from the other site I visit. I guess add me to the totaled tC crew

On Thursday August 7th, I was involved in a car accident with my tC. I cam around a turn coming home from Big Bear Lake, CA at 60 mph (speed limit 55) and my rear end slipped out causing me to go into a slide. I tried to correct myself but there wasn't enough room on the 2 lane road. I ended up plowing into a cliff face destroying my front end. That's not the end if it though, after plowing into the cliff face, I still have enough momentum to carry the car sideways against it and flip the car over onto its' roof. Thankfully no body was hurt and due to where I crashed, CA RT18 nicknamed "The Rim of the World", there was little traffic. Several people stopped to help us and call for help and we waited for the CHP and Fire Department to come to the scene. My tC was declared a total loss yesterday by my insurance company. Unfortunately, I won't be getting another tC but I definitely won't be leaving the Scion Community either. This thread is dedicated to my tC which I miss already. It will show the evolution of her through the time I had her.

And now for the Accident...

And this little guy survived the flip and crash

I'm not picking up a new car until I start grad courses. My tires needed replacing in the rear so that's why I spun out

glad you're ok after seeing those pics. be glad that traffic was lite and you didnt cross over to the other lane and go over the guard rail. you just added more proof that a tc can take a beating and keep everybody safe, even an egg...

my cousin has an evo and its really fun to drive but like scott said, have fun paying the higher insurance bill. even more so if your 17.

Yup I understand that. That's why I plan on waiting 2 years or so before making a new purchase. I'm starting college in 2 weeks and would like to get settled before deciding to start a new car payment. Hopefully by then, my insurance rate won't be so obnoxious. Prior to the accident, I was paying ~2200 a year so I expect that to double now that I have a total loss on my record.

BTW, I'm going to be 18 in a few weeks!

Definitely a "E Ticket Ride" I'm sure.

Sad to see your much loved tC totaled, but glad there weren't any serious injuries: Your tC did it's best for you.

Good luck with whatever replaces it!

most insurance companies look 5 to 7 years on your driving record....

Get a 4 door POS civic/corolla/etc and put that as your daily driver. then get your new car and put that as your leisure vehicle. will help reduce your insurance payment, and get you a multiple car discount.

Do us all a favor and change them tires when they need it!!!!!!
