i wasnt actually flipping out.. lol! this wouldnt be the place to flip out.. it was just a sarcastic reply from a sarcastic answer lol.. but funny how a forum could turn gossip according to rangerryda.. and i did go to a google.. all i wanted was a little extra advice since you haveeeeeeeeeeeeee to kno.. but anyway.. like i said.. i wasnt flippin out bro.. but thanx..
Your welcome? I don't know what you thanked me for.
Perhaps you should portray your actual attitude more accurately before posting to keep things like this from happening again. Proper English and punctuation help decipher sarcasm and actual intention.
If we were face to face, it would be a lot more simple but since we can only communicate via typing, you may want to take my advice in order to get the desired answers.
We are all about fun and learning on this forum but you can't ask questions that are too open ended or have been answered a million times and expect an honest, non sarcastic answer.
Back to my popcorn...

Actually, lets do a quick little info piece. Radar detectors are set off by picking up an active radar frequency being used. This is the same case for LIDAR (laser). Radar only will transmit in one direction (remember we're talking Police radars). Therefor for the detector to pick it up and be accurate they must receive part of this signal. Thus meaning you're likely already being picked up by some sort of measuring device. Laser is accurate to well over 4500 ft, and is faster then the blink of an eye. I'll let you do the math on that.
Edit: I'll also say that I've used detectors in the past, including escorts. Mixed Results, I wouldn't completely rely on them at all. And in 8 years of driving, I've only had 1 ticket (when I had a detector none the less)
Radar/Lidar detectors rely on a police officer already tagging people ahead of you. If you're the only one on the road and the officer is sitting in his car with his radar/lidar gun off/not transmitting, then you have no way of knowing that he is there. It only takes a short time for him to turn it on and engage your vehicle, thus giving you less then probably 2 seconds to reduce your speed.
That's were the tracking/gps linking detectors come in handy, they remember where they have had hits before and learn of other hits from other users. So you can have notifications of hot spots.
The police aren't dumb, they know how to spot speeders, they know how to use their radar/lidar detectors the most efficient way. Yes there are lazy cops who just sit on hills with the radar on full active hitting any and every car that comes his direction.
The easiest way to avoid a ticket is to not speed or have better attention to detail/surroundings + radar detector + trapster.
