i replaced some nokya super yellows that i was using (55 watts)
and bought some hyper blues, but i just noticed they are 80 watts

does this matter at all? are they going to burn out faster or have potential to melt the pig tail?

or is anyone running 80 watts without a problem?

i just dont want any issues if i put these in

 

i heard you can burn out your electrical wiring if you run higher wattage bulbs, but i AM NOT 100% sure on that, considering i just heard it and its never happened to me lol

 

what are you running in your fogs?

 

i have Sylvannia Silverstars, theyre only 55 watts tho


in this post the guy was worried about running 55 watts saying he heard it could cause a fire or something, but that seems a bit extreme lol

Well my math is probably wrong, but 55w bulbs draw about 5amps, 80w bulbs are going to draw 8amps or so. Considering the wiring for the fogs is 22gauge wire, I think the wires would be on the edge of smoking. Consider the fuse for the fogs is 10amp, if the fuse blows with the 80w bulbs, it would be best to switch back.
