Rattle!
I know I am probably being a little **** about this but, If I have my music off and listin carefully I can hear rattle coming from the right rear hatch area sometimes. It is hard to reproduce it on demand and it seems to come and go. I hear it mostly when I am in 1st gear or reverse, and sometimes when idling. It is not bad or loud, but noticable now that I am listinging for it. I originally thought it was the cargo cover, but I have now eliminated that as a possiblility. I think it might be plastic molding next to hatch glass. Anybody had any simmilar rattles, or luck fixing them? :?
I will probably get over it since it is not that bad, but it is messing with my mind some. Last night I went to pick up Wendys for dinner and on my way home I could hear the rattle really bad, I was freaking out. Then I discovered the noise was coming from the paper Wendy's bag Haha. Atleast it good to know that my car is still quieter then a Wendy's bag

I hear the same thing, mostly when riding on rough roads. Although it isn't that much of a problem, I intend to have the dealer fix it when I take my car in for it's first oil change. I'm waiting for the service guys to get a little more experience with tCs before I have them work on my car. If you do a search, you'll find the rattle is one of the common "problems" people have been having. Again, it's not a big deal and can easily be fixed, but it should be fixed.
I have rattles in the back too, partly from the spare tire area and partly from the cans of tennis ***** hitting the trunk walls
. I know I can go to the dealer to have the first thing tightened but I'm a bit too lazy to even go to the dealer -_-
Yea, I have read most of those, I think this one is different. I took out the cargo cover and I took the stuff out of the spare tire compartment So it is not those. It sounds like a platic on plastic/ glass rattle. I am almost sure it is the plastic that runs around the rear window. Specificly the top passenger cornor that is on the hatch itself bordering the glass. Anybody have the directions on how to take that molding off? If it is easy I may try to see if I can fix it myself. The way it has been acting, I think if I take it into the dealer it will stop and I wont be able to replicate it for them. However, I just drove home for lunch and it worse then it has been. :?

My car is at the dealer right now for this problem. Rattle from the back right rear. Plastic on plastic noise. They've had the car all day, and they said they think they know what it is. They kept the car overnight to fix the sunroof creak, and stereo door that never worked. I'll try to find out what was causing it, as this seems to be a common problem.
Dealer called. They have found several rattles. The one major one was from the right rear seat belt motor. Something about its case split and was rattling.
There is another one that they are having trouble finding. They said they completely removed the whole rear interior, and that its not from the interior plastic, but something in the metal part of the car. They said the car is at the body shop getting inspected to make sure a frame weld didn't break or anything like that.
So far, great service.

Got the car back. Drives better than when it was new. 1500 miles on it and its as quiet as a new car should be. No more rattles, or creaks or strange noises. They said they fixed 5-6 different things. The rear glass, rear seat belts, a rear panel, sunroof and some other stuff.
Take your car to the dealer and let them fix it. They had it for two days, but its well worth having a car that doesn't sound like a 10 year old ford.
