Hey Guys -

I have noticed in a few pictures that when the brakes are pressed, the LED along the trunk in the back lights up kinda weird. From what I can see, on the middle portion of the long strip of light actually lights up. Is that really the way it works? If so, why make the light so long if you are only going to make the middle actually work. I looks weird to me.

 

I was guessing that the sides blink as your turn signal does. just a guess tho, there's no fact behind it.

 

I am also wondering about this, we need someone to get there tC soon to test out these questions. So who want their tC now? :D

well....my dealer said my car will be in NYC the 21st...im in Mass so i'll get it soon after that...i'll keep you guys posted!!

 

I'm in RI, why are you buying in NYC? I was thinking about buying in NH to save sales tax, but I guess registration might be more. I'm not sure, do you know?

 

no i bought it in MA....but he said it'll be made the 17th...shipped to NYC the 21st...and then they'll have a truck bring it to MA...
i know you'll save tax in NH but i'm not sure about registration...

 

I'm not following... the cars are made in Japan, but yours can get from there to New York in 4 days?? do you mean it will be moved from a receiving plant here in the states to NYC and then on to you in MA??

 

maybe a mod could stick an "i finally got my tC!!!!!!!!!!!!!" thread up there as a sticky for people to post so that the forum doesnt become flooded with i got my tC threads....

i cant wait to get my hands on a tC! my local toyota/scion dealer is stupid though. "all we know is that it comes out late June."

i don't know....i talked to him yesterday...and he said it will be in NYC the 21st...maybe he lied about it being made the 17th... but the first thing he said to me was it was going to be in NY the 21st...so i guess i'll rely on that much...and then it should only take a day not even to get to MA....so i'm hoping the 23rd

so yeah.... the LED bar on the back is a 3rd brake light in the middle and turn signals on the sides.

 

That is good. I was worried they were going to do something wierd like only have the middle light up. but the turn signals are cool.

I like the rear led brake light, it matches mine on my xB. I added a led third brake light on my spoiler and the tC matches it perfectly. Another reason for me to get another scion :D

c_rowe - I like the name of your place!! Looks kind of familiar.

 

I hate to burst bubbles.. but one of the other forums confirmed that the middle is a led brake light but that the sides are just reflectors.. not what I want to hear, but this was coming from someone who saw it up close..

Worst case scenario.. someone comes up with a mod to make it LED turn signals. I've worked a lot with leds on my motorcycle and it's not too hard to wire..

I guess we'll see...
