i worked at a dealership.. and i know the parts guys and have used their computers.. yea.. RS parts are not usually stocked anywhere.. Scion does that on purpose. they want RS parts.. only on RS cars.
even if you actually own the car itself, it's still very much a pain to get any replacement parts.. so trying to get one when you don't own one, is even more difficult.
i won't say it's impossible.. but i wouldn't be surprised if it ends up never being in the parts database either.
my suggestion, is to find someone that's buying the car that you know is going to replace the **** with something else anyway, and try to buy it off them. that's how most people have gotten RS parts.

Try to call the dealership and ask for a paint code on a release series color for touch up paint. After that you will understand how Damn near impossible it's gonna be to get that shift ****

the paint code isn't too difficult to obtain..
however, knowing their computer system... having them look up anything that's from a Release Series.. pretty much is near impossible without a VIN from one of them.. and even so.. the parts aren't always correctly inputted in the system either.
so yea.. if the guy doesn't know anything about the RS... having them get the paint code, i guess, would be difficult at that point..

All I need is for someone here on the forums who buys a release 10.0 FRS to let me borrow their VIN. If I can clear that one hurtle, I'm sure I can work the magic with some acquaintances at the dealership
