Default REST IN PEACE

this is vixen

shes my SSM 05 TRD supercharged tC

tein s tech lowering springs
mmw cai
megan racing catback
agency power crank pulley
nst 9.5 psi
greddy front strut bar
megan c pillar bar
mpire header
mpire grounding wire
pioneer tunerIII head unit
B&M SS
gutted
rc450cc injectors

shes fun.

it all started when i first got the blower.

before the blower was on, i thought i was JDM and had a crank case breather. not fully thinking . so we put the supercharger on, works great! i goto koons toyota here in town to get he reflash. they cant do it. BS. so i called around to get an estimate and thompson toyota could do it, but it would cost a pretty penny. so ive been saving up for the tune. well the more i drove the car, the slower it seemed to be getting. we took the breather off and hooked up the tube that goes to the SC, like it should. i was pulling timing like craaaaaaaazy. not because i was running lean, far from it. i mean, the flames she shot baked sut onto my rear bumper . my intake tube from the SC was filled with oil. she started misfiring, we did a compression test.

cylinder 1: 160
cylinder 2: 90
cylinder 3: 40
cylinder 4: 160

(the norm for our cars is around 170, 145 is in the danger zone)

the middle two cylinders were low, so we thought it was just a common on the head gasket.

leak down test. (used at the recomended 90 psi)

no air comming from anywhere

this is what is wrong.

cylinders two and threes' rings are fried. the entire crank case is filled with watered down oil. it was filled with so much oil that the pCV and the crank case vent were clogged. the lub in the cylinders was torn from the walls because of how rich i was running. and to top it all off, the PCV is broken!!!!!!!!!!!!111!11111!!!

this is what caused it.

the crank case vent uses vacuum to draw oput the vapors. with a breather on there, it wasnt getting vacuum. the PCV also uses a vacuum source from the intake manny to open.

PROBLEM IS

under boost the intake manny becomes pressurized keeping the PCV jammed shut. so the vapors and the oil could not escape. over two weeks, thats a lot of pressure. boost would push the oil back up the crank case, and mix it with the vapors, making a low viscosity oil. like 1 0w10. no lie. oil was leaking out of the seals on the SCand the valve cover.we thought it was leaking because the oil was so thin and it wouldnt seal. we thought wrong

what im saying is, she needs a new engine.

well, i dont have the money.

so koons is going to buy her as is and sell her to an auction house.

she is now sitting at koons where i will never get to drive her, wash her, sleep in her, or just look at her ever again

i bought the car for 15, and put at least 5 grand extra into her. ive had her since january of 07. ive put so much time into her, put in all of the after market part ourselves, basically didnt let any stranger touch her.

it really sucks, its like putting your pet to sleep. as of tonight i will be leaving the forums. it was a really grat experience having a scion and hope you all the best of luck with yours

regards,

Collin aka tC-Collin

can't you save a little to swap the block out? hate to see you just give up!

like look at this post

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=195798

that is pretty affordable. then you just piece it together from there.

What did the dealer give you for it?

dude, go to the salvage yard for a used 2az-fe engine from another tC. don't give up so easily. ____, probably can buy another heart if not all new for like $300 at lowest. still would need a engine crane and stuff. im feeling more sad that you're letting her go like this. damnit!

well it all depends what the dealership quotes it for....
the car is also under my dads name, so whatever he says goes i guess. i think its time to move on, dont get me wrong, I LOVE MY SCION, but i dont have the time in my life right now to commit it to this car. i need a car fast, i have work and school... and a girlfriend to drive to.

you are going to lose more money selling it at auction than if you were to spend the money and fix it...

sounds like someone didn't have the education or knowledge to go forced induction, and why would you want to supercharge you only means of transportation??? do you know that takes the pure dependability out of it??? even if it is stock supercharged it still won't last as long, thats common knowledge.

If the car is in your dads name, meaning that it is his, then i highly doubt he will just let it go for a small fraction of what he paid for it

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Camry...spagenameZWDVW

there is a reasonably priced engine. sell all your supercharger equipment and buy that.

well i owe 6700 on the car still, the dealer will buy it for probably around 8000, so ill have a good down payment.

and its not my dads, i paid for all of it, the loan is under his name.

and the supercharger is going up for sale, so check ebay soon!

So does the ECU reflash denied by Toyota the cause of improper engine ventilation?

no, the ventilation was my fault. the fact that my walls in the cylinders are stripped, yes.

damnit, where are the SL members from baltimore when you need them? someone here is bound to have a engine crane, tools, and a helping hand to revive this beast.

stealership should not have this car without a last fight saving her.

she could be easily saved. we have an engine hoist and all the tools we need. i just dont have the time in my life to commit to this project. selling this car will pay her off, and establish my first credit. in the long run its what is best.

P.S.

I WOULD SAVE HER IF I COULD

So the factory super charger destroyed your engine? Am I understanding that right?

no. the fact that a toyota dealership denied me the reflash destroyed my engine.
