Default Roll Bars for the tC

I'm a little scared when i touch the 125 mphs because of the glass roof.

Have any one put roll bars on their street tc ?

roll bars dont belong on street cars, you will be much safer without it, trust me.

you dont exactly want your head hitting the roll bar if you ever roll over, at least not if you dont have a helmet, which no one ever has when they are driving on the street.

most economical solution aswell. Roll bars ain't gona keep the roof intact. If you roll your car at 125 not only will you more then likely be dead from the sheer force going through your body, but glass cuting you/ a broken roof WILL be the least of your worries.

why don't you just replace the glass above your head with some see thru material?? it would be lighter and less prone to breaking... im guessing some type of plastic??

my worries are that the body will twist so bad that the car will crush me.

thats the first reason for the roll bars.

a roll bar some recaro seats an a 4 or 4 point harness could save my life

Not driving like a jerk at 125 mph on the street could save your life too.

well, then don't follow his footsteps. if you still need to do 125mph and worry about the glass roof, might as well get a custom fab job to weld in solid metal sheet in its place and put crossbars.

Unless you're wearing a helmet and some sort of neck safety device (i.e. HANS), your roof caving in will be the last of your worries if you wreck at 120+ mph. There's an old saying in racing: "It's not the impact, it's the sudden stop that kills you."

Unless you are racing on professinal tracks, you will never see 125 MPH in a tC legally.

Wow. I feel like I'm talking with some ricer from my school. if you wreck at 125. You'll prolly be dead before the body of the car has a chance to wrap around you. A 4 or 5 point harness isn't going to keep your head from snapping forword fast enough to disconnect your spinal column from your brain unless your wearing some sort of neck safety device and a helmet(I.E 2FAST ) . Unless you're racing on a race track or have a show car. all that stuff is useless. If you wreck at 125mph in a Scion tC with a Roll Cage, a 5 Point harness and some racing seats... you'll still be royally screwed.

Hehe... Hans... HANS (Head And Neck Safety) device. :D

The real question is: would you want to survive a 125 mph crash in a street car? Spinal and brain injuries never seem to be any fun... unless you're into paralysis and/or living in a persistent vegetive state the rest of your life. :?

You really don't need a roll bar at all..... because:

You will likely hit a tree, utility pole or an innocent driver before you actually roll the car.

The engine will come through the firewall and separate your legs from your hips, ripping your midsection in two, leaving your intestines and other internal organs exposed and scattered through your freshly cleaned, Armor-Alled interior... and across the road for the whole world to see.

The windshield will make impact with your face and nose, driving glass shards deep into your brain. There is also a good chance your head will separate from the rest of your body.

You better not wear the most expensive shoes while driving that day... the impact of the crash will rip them right off of your feet... and throw them a few hundred yards down the road never to be found again. It would really suck if your next-of-kin could only find one of your favorite shoes after the crash.

So much for the help from that roll bar.

Please don't drive 125mph.

I think we have to assume here that he is racing on a track. I'm sure he is not dumb enough to race 125 on the street, so until he says otherwise, let's just assume he is on the track.
