Rough Idle
#2
How rough? I thought that mine had a rough idle, but when I compared it to other tCs at the dealer, it was normal for this engine. I was initially comparing it to hondas, that are glass smooth at idle, so I was worried until I did the comparison.
The engine *does* smooth out some more after a few thousand more miles.

Well maybe it's normal. Compared to my Camry it's a little rough. Maybe I need to put a few more miles on it. It just drives me crazy. I don't know if I can handle the adjustment. Anyone want to buy a new 07 TC?

Teare.. where are you buying your gas? might try another brand or another gas station. I've found that bad gas will cause your idle to be very rough. And I know the detroit area, some gas stations IN the city of detroit, aren't the best places to buy gas from (dirty tanks).. so definitely try a different gas station..

i'm at 750 miles in my 07 tc and i find it a little rough at idle too. i'm comparing to vw and honda. just seems rougher than a brand new car should i guess. but i will take that gas suggestion, i've been putting in the cheap stuff.

does everyones engine seem to idle high after starting it, then go back and forth for low to high at a different rate everytime, then calm down after a few mins? i find this very annoying in the morning.

I find it pretty convenient, makes backing out and no gas starting a breeze

costco gas sucks. i tried it once on my mustang and it made my engine ping. i never heard any pinging from my engine prior to that. i tried a regular gas station after and it went away. i have a feeling their 87 octane isn't really 87.
