Default RS 1.0 Envy.... My RED engine MOD. 20$ with PICS

Gotta give props to evildave for the idea I got from his post. Spent Roughly 20$ and a lil time and Walla. I Really the Color RED . Either way I painted the Engine cover myself. Only Question I'm wondering is should I put a clear coat over the paint to protect it and for when I need to Clean it? Enjoy!

It's nice but I'd paint the valve cover and ditch the plastic engine cover altogether.

What did you paint that with? It looks cleaner than others I've seen. Good job!

Basic reason I didn't was I wasn't fond of the color selection in high temp based paints. The engine cover doesn't get hot enough, so I was free to use most any paint.
AS far as doin the valve cover itself I think that might have gone over the 20$ budget

I cleaned the cover up with basic paint thinner. Then I painted it with Krylon Fusion paint for plastics. I went with this because I didn't feel like using a Adhesion Promoter, 1 extra step.

I painted the toyota logo and the VVt-i symbols by hand usin gloss black enamel model paint. I really think this would look SWEET in a RS 1.0 red tC.

According to OutCrnrU, he just sanded the valve cover with 600-grit sandpaper and a few coats of primer, paint and clearcoat. Could probably be done for $20.

Alright I know Scion is about personlizing your car but do you really think that looks good, just take your high temp red paint and spray the whole car because it cant look any worse. pull out the red wire loom and start over. look at the pic of the other engine with the red valve cover no red loom and it looks great. just my opinion

Tru. No lie I do like the painted valve cover but it definitely entails alot more work. All i was aiming for was a "diffrent" look under the hood. I'm prolly the only one that's really ever gonna see it so... But thanks for your view I'll go Shoot myself now Thanks for the Idear!
