Default RS 1.0 Rims Scratched :(

You know those lovely RS rims? I have a scrape on my passenger side rear wheel due to misjudging the space in a tight turn near a friendly curb that was just high enough to scrape the rim nicely. Is that something that can be buffed out and retouched and look decent or am I better off just replacing the rim? I don't really care if it is 'perfect', but it looks fairly hideous at the moment, if you can imagine a rim having an open wound.

What kind of expense would I be looking at for each solution? Thanks to anyone who can help with some info and advice.

I am also guilty of trying to take a turn too tight and grazing my RS 1.0 rims. That is one of the worst sounds in the world...rims on curb...*shudder*.

This winter, once the snow hits and I get my winter wheels and tires on my car, I plan to repair the rims myself. Cheaper and gives you that warm fuzzy feeling once you get it done yourself.

I found a how-to in another post. It looks pretty good.

Good luck with your rims and let me know what you decide to do and how they turn out.

I did that as well. Twice actually, on the same turn and the same rim.

What sucks about the rims for any tC is that theyre powdercoated. I scuffed mine and yes it does suck. I have to start looking into repain shops before winter comes and salt eats away at them.
I already sanded out all the rough scuff, so now its smooth again...now it needs some paint.

All four of my rims are scratched, so don't feel that bad.

But there's only the one that's damaged.
