RS1.0 Grills
Do I think the car would lose value? Yes, aesthetical value
Do I think you would get less money for the car? I highly doubt it.
Do I think someone would NOT buy the car because of the grills? Maybe 1 out of 10

I have to tell you that the car buying public probably won't care that much, but if you want to trade or sell to a dealer, they're going to notice and it's going to make them think that you might have done other stuff to your car. Unless you think you're keeping the car forever, I'd recommend holding onto the grill - they do go for al ot of money though so if you're swapping it out, you could probably sell it pretty easy.
if you sell or trade to dealer or somebody that knows their stuff, it will definitely affect the value of your car. also, you are selling your car as limited edition..shouldnt you leave that on for the next person? doesnt seem fair but hey you can do whatever

Dude, isn't the MSRP for the grills from a dealer like $2,000? Turn down the $500 and ask for $1200.
Yeah, if you sell to someone unsuspecting, then no harm done... but if somone knows their stuff, they might bust your ***** about it...then ask you to knock off $2,000...the price it would cost for them to get a new grill from a dealer. Think about it.

I think the upper grille is like $400 and the lower is about $600. Or the other way around. They are quite ridiculous.
But ya, if someone offered you $500, you might be able to do better. If you'd really give them up, make a post in the Classifieds asking for best offer and state what your best is so far. See what you can get...

well i know someone in phoenix swapped their grill with someone who had a bsp tc. then the guy with the rs1 traded the car in and as far as i know he didnt lose any value for it at all. i will tell you this... that thing is a b*tch to get out!
Normally, when you trade in a vehicle, the dealer looks up the model, year, miles, and options in a book and gives you a number based on that. Trust me, they really don't care about the car itself. As long as it doesn't make funny noises or have obvious cosmetic blemishes like rust, you are going to get the standard offer.
As for selling your grille, you could get some decent money for it, so if you are willing to give it up, go for it.

imo, if you trade the car at a scion dealer you'll get hit big time....no other entity will catch it at trade. heck, no one can apparently find a good aftermarket price for the tC...KBB is saying more than original retail.
my point is unless someone knows scions they will not know the 1.0 differences. might as well throw them there 18s on ebay. prolly can get 20 bucks for the battery tie down too....jk
btw...i want the grills....pm me the price.

Well the rs1.0 does cost more then a base tc. Im asking 17-18k for it which i think is pretty nice with all the RS1.0 options, there is only 11425 miles on the car which is really low

i laugh as i peruse auto trader regarding the tC. i thought the 1.0 was overpriced....but every model was over 20K....
another example
too funny; i challenge you all to do your own research.

another thing is when i traded my camry in for this at the toyota dealership they didnt even look at the camry. they just did the kbb value and gave me that for it. they didnt look at it or drive it or anything. i think that was cause of pure pricing though. so you shouldnt have a problem if your rs1 grill isnt on the car.
ppl MUST be smoking crack if they buy those VERY overpriced tCs!! I work at a Toyota/Scion dealership and we have 4 NEW tC 2006 manual trans and 4 auto trans all for under 18k. the manuals are under 17k. So, i guess more power to the sellers is they can actually get 23k + for used tCs
