Smile Rust On Front Radiator Clip/Mounts?

Go here and look at those 2 radiator clips that fasten the radiator to the car frame. I saw that there was rusting taking place. Is this normal? I see newer models have this painted black. Is this an improvement in the recent tC's?

Click below and my engine bay is the first picture on page 52.

Thanks.

no they all rust with time, the ones on that thread were painted by the owners themselves, or are replacements fron NST tuning. u can always just unbolt them paint them and reinstall them

What are they called? How much are they? I think it has to do with the salt they put on the road when it snows. I am pretty sure they looked better when the car was new LOL.

Dont the radiator supports come black from the factory? Yours look like they never were black. Mine just started to turn dull black, got some $7 high temp paint, good as new. Those NST brackets do look nice though, might swap them out later.

yeah that's what I think I'm gonna do to mine. but idk. mmy VC is powder coated blue and I have a VVTI plate/SRI/Header in chrome/polish. so I'm thinkin maybe buying chrome paint and painting the brackets chrome/metallic. or blue. but eh idk to much blue it alil to much rice, but so is to much chrome lol. I eventually wanna redo my VC black though. so I guess I'll jus see this weekend

I am keeping all my stuff black since my heat shield is black. I would like to find an extra VC to work on so I dont have to worry about doing it in one day and messing something up and not having the car or having to put it on looking messed up.

i have the dme radiator brackets in silver (since my car is black i wanted them to stand out) and they are nice, decided to swap out the stock ones since pretty much everything else in my engine bay was DME so why not match it all up lol. but my stock radiator brackets never faded or got rust but then again it doesn't snow here in my area (socal). but you can just paint them and save some money because it's not like they are gonna brake on you.
