Default S/C tC Trade Value??

Hey guys ,

I know their are a couple of guys on here who are no longer Scion owners or have switched from different Scion vehicles.
Well my question for you guys is has anyone on here traded in their Supercharged tC and received a better trade in value than the one stated on KBB.
I know that the S/C is a option on the tC and KBB does not have a option listed for this.

My reason for asking is I am debating about installing my S/C as maybe a month or two down the road I might be trading it in for a four door sedan.
The wife and I have came to an agreement that the tC does not leave enough room for the stroller and extra baggage in the trunk and taking the car seat out is a hassle due to having a 2" drop all around on the car.
So my S/C is pretty much complete all I'm redoing is the bearings so i can have it mounted on the car. I have waited patiently for months piecing it together just to come to a conclusion that I won't be keeping the car.

I won't argue with the wife about it though because my tC is auto so i read that the S/C has minimal to no gains on it . The other reason also is my sedan will be manual gear box either a G35 / G37 six speed or a IS250/350 six speed also. So we have agreed on the sedan also so I'm happy for that .

Please guys let me hear your input on how this would work for a trade in. And I know someone is going to say " contact a dealer " but I did and they always tell me the same bs . Bring the car to get it appraise. All I want to know is will I be able to get more than KBB trade in value for having the S/C stock .

Thanks guys.

I doubt the S/C adds any resale value to the car. It's seen as an aftermarket component, so it's likely that it will either lower resale value, or just do nothing.

You'd have to find someone looking specifically for a S/C'd tC to get anything extra out of it. At most you might get $500-$1k more from that particular person.

Yeah that's what I was thinking also .. I wanted to install it and drive it around for a day or two just to feel how a S/C feels on a tC before trading it in. But I guess in reality might have to just sell it separate but I do want to fix it and have it running to at least get some money
selling it refurbished as I have seen several S/C's on here sell for less than what the actual cost is I would hope to at least get back what I paid for it and all the months it took me to fine every single part. Maybe 700 + with the 9.5 pulley and belt.

There is no point in installing it if you just want to 'see how it feels'. The S/C is only good for 10-15HP on the auto tC, it's a complete waste.

Yeah that's true. When I read the post about a auto tC dynod pretty much summed it up to me to not even put it on. i saw a dyno on here where someone only got 8hp extra to the wheels. That's was just embarrassing for something that makes more for the manual.
So alright you guys have helped me decide on what to do with it. Also what do you guys say about buying and installing the new bearings on the charger?? Or should i just sell it already un pieced and let the new buyer deal with it.

Would I get more for the S/C with everything ready to go just for the install???

On a side note, Lexus doesn't make a Lexus IS350 with a 6 speed manual. Only the IS250 has a 6 speed manual, and only in RWD configuration.

Which is why I hate to hate it. Lexus is retarded in that it offers the worst possible drive train configurations in their line-up.

Well, yeah the IS350 comes with the 6 speed but its' auto. lol but where leaning more for the G37 sedan with manu gear box. Lexus models are all looks that's y the wife and I like them but we wanted to stay in the Toyota family but with a luxury vehicle.

If I end up with the Lexus would be for them to give me a away over the top deal which I doubt. The guys at Infinity already had made me an offer and test drove the G and wow the sedan still kicks but and the interior is way nicer than the tC... and best of all no rattles
