Default SC + TRD exhaust?

from what i've read... the TRD exhaust for the TC isnt worth buying because it doesnt produce hardly any HP?! if this is true, if you compared a TC wit stock exhaust + SC and TRD exhaust + SC, is there gonna be a significant jump in HP??

excuse me if this is a stupid question.

probably not... all the exhaust is, is a free'er flowing muffler.... if u wanted more gains you'd have to go with an actual exhaust system...I.E. a cat back system....but thats just exhaust, theres a lot more to be done to unleash the beast

again, catbacks do NOT always produce more power. HKS, Blitz, TRD all made axlebacks for the IS300 that produced more HP than ANY catback system (ie: Greddy EVO2) unless they were custom made applications for turbos.

and that works for normally aspirited is300's....of course trd would make an axle back if thats what makes more hp for their normally aspirted car... if your adding a blower things change

i posted this before, but for them to make a cat back, they would have to replace the catalytic converter, which is illegal. thats why the axle back. there are only 2 mounting points for the exhaust, instead of three. so the cat is built into the middle part of the exhaust.

I am going to sponcer a tC this week so I am going to get different style axle backs and maybe a manifold back. But I need to make sure they actually do something for HP an dnot just look good. Back pressure plays a BIG role in the HP on the tC. Trust me :D

:?: How would a cat back not be legal? It mounts behind the cat so the stock cat is still there. Im talking about the cat down stream not the pre cat on the manifold. If some of you would consider a cat back from that I could see problems then. I would say get a new flex pipe to go from manifold/cat to the second cat then biger pipe from that cat back. If you had the s/c that should be a good set up. Im not sure if you could replace that flex pipe though so might just need to run it back from the second cat.

here we go again. Ok the tC exhaust system goes. thermal reactor(manifold cat)-secondary cat- pipe-resinator-muffler assembly. And than a pardige and a pear tree. :D
