Default Scion FAQ: What should I do to break-in my new Scion?

Your vehicle does not need an elaborate break-in. But following a few simple tips for the first 1600 km (1000 miles) can add to the future economy and long life of your vehicle:

* Avoid full throttle acceleration when starting and driving.
* Avoid racing the engine.
* Try to avoid hard stops during the first 300 km (200 miles).
* Do not drive slowly with the manual transmission in a high gear.
* Do not drive for a long time at any single speed, either fast or slow.

Check out the official Scion FAQ: http://www.scion.com/about/about_faq.html

the rest make a lot of sense.. i just don't see how the last one is possible? Are you saying to always accelerate? And how long (miles wise) do you have to do this?

im no engine guru, but ive been told it causes harmonics.. basically the car runs the best at a certain RPM (which coincidentally is the same RPM to that speed)... dont use the cruise for long periods of time

All it means is dont go drive 300 miles going 70mph in the same gear the whole day.
