Default Scion, RS*R, Formula D Controversy?

The Super Autobacs Nissan Skyline team has been heated over the vagueness of the rule book. We all know the RS*R tC has a similar chassis as the Toyota Avensis (which the RWD components come from), but apparently the Skyline was considered ineligible when using parts from a skyline wagon...

Interesting stuff! People have been saying for some time that Formula D has been becoming quite shady, and politics and money are turning the sport sour!

It seems like everytime Toyota/Scion gets into a racing sport, this type of stuff comes up. Everyone was all upset over the supposed "bent rules" for the Nascar Toyota Camry Stock car too.

In their defense, they did petition for the tC before they started to build it. The Autobacs Skyline didn't, and not going through the proper process may be the reason why they're having such a hard time.

Formula D needs to come out with a sheet similar to SCCA that let's you know what mods can be used!

Welcome to the world of judged sports.

They really need to hold true to the name "Formula D" to encourage competition. The "Formula" part of it is really a misnomer; a "formula" class implies a strict, strict, strict spec sheet. Look up any "Formula" classes in SCCA, NASA, FIA, etc. and you'll see what I mean.

Oddly enough, Formula D is a sanctioned SCCA Pro division. :?

And even odd... er, is that it isn't listed anywhere on the SCCA site, and a search for "formula d" on the site gets a "Sorry, there was an unexpected error processing your query; please try again later" error.
