Default Scion Security Question

How many Key/Fob remotes do you typically receive with the Scion Security option for the tC ?

I Purchased a used tC and only received one key, which makes me very very nervous.

Is there a way to "reset" the System so it only accepts signals from the One Key that I do have and nothing else ?

or should I just get this bad boy re-keyed and get a new security system ?

Any help would be appreciated.

When you buy a tC, you receive 3 keys total. 2 key fobs with the lock, unlock, and panic buttons, as well as 1 valet key. There is also a small metal tag with some numbers on it. This is your unique "signature" for your keys and you can have more keys made to work with your vehicle with this. Make sure you have that!!! It's kinda important. The Scion Security system works through the normal key fobs. You don't need any additional fobs for the system.

I really don't know how you would go about re-keying the tC and the engine chip. =/ Maybe someone knows...

Hope I answered most of your questions.

I got three keys: 2 masters (with the buttons on them) and 1 sub master key (which has no buttons on it). You are supposed to get all those. Unless you bought it used maybe? I wish I knew about re-keying codes, I know nothing.

Thanks for the replies, Blue and Yaron

looks like I'll be getting the Scion security system disabled and getting an aftermarket one.

No Biggie since the dealer I got it from had no idea that Scion Security was an extra option that he could have charged me extra for lol

That's prolly your best option, besides you missing some keys. The Scion Security is a piece. I just got a Clifford Matrix RSX 3.5 with Remote Start. I can't wait to put it in my car. My friend got one, too, and it's awesome.
