Scion tC Garnish Warranty Replacement
Well.. after breaking my garnish, I checked the back of the garnish and it is indeed a HORRIBLE design. Literally little thin pieces of plastic. I'm glad all the complaints finally went through and Toyota is finally replacing the piece
It is pretty solid now... there's no wiggle to it anymore. But I'm having problems actually opening the hatch. Before, you were able to sort of "feel" the button push in. Now that we're in winter (temperatures have dropped here to the twenties Fahrenheit in western MD) it's been almost impossible to open the hatch. I've had no problem in previous years opening the hatch under freezing temperatures (15 deg F and under) but it seems something goes wrong with the opening mechanism as the temperatures get colder.
This is pretty annoying because I intended to load up the tC with a bunch of luggage the other day but actually gave up trying to open my trunk and stuffed everything by going behind the seat. Is anyone else having this problem?
