doesnt matter how many NA bolt ons your have, probably still wont be as fast as your brother's Mustang.
If youre a decent driver, you should be able to get into the high 15's.
And yes, I can chirp 3rd...... but I attribute that to crap tires, not big torque.

yea i have chirped 3rd quite a few times. 2nd is cake. i don't blame it on the tires, i actually have no complaints with the stock tires when the ground is dry. i have taken some corners pretty quick and have felt no loss of traction. in the wet thats another story, they suck when it's wet. i don't know much about mustangs but if it's a v6 you might have a chance. it it's a v8 your toast. and a good driver in a stock tc should get mid 15's in the 1/4 mile.

^what he said....

oh and i dont want to start a war here, but u shouldnt be lookin to chirp the tires in any gear at all man..it means ur timing is screwed up a bit...if u get on the gas and come off the clutch perfect u wont chirp..even going into 2nd.

I chirp 3rd, its not hard if you try to. I blame this on wheel hop. I need a stiffy.

If its a V8, it has the power and torque advantage, not to mention Mustangs are RWD, so he definitely has the jump on you there. A fwd is just not optimized for track life (not that they cant be fun on the track, but a rwd is the way to go).

Other than that, dont worry if you can chirp 3rd, it tells you nothing about the car really.

a GT is going to eat you for lunch regardless of any bolt on you have. Really, the only way i can see an N/A tC running with a GT is with every bolton, an aggressive head port + polish, good clutch + lightened flywheel, and then a strong tune. Even then, it'll be close.

* the word nitrous floats by in the wind...*

Yep, considering the only bolt ons short of a turbo that actaully provide real track results are a lightweight flyweel and header/exhaust, and the fact that the flywheel only effects revving and the header/exhaust provides minimal gains.. bolt ons arent going to get you far. You would almost be better off spending money on tires, thicker sways and springs and then challenging him on the twisties. But if he knows what he is doing with a RWD he will eat you up there as well most likely. But at least suspension bolt ons have a real, noticeable effect on the tC.

If you think the car handles well on stock tires, wait until you swap them out! Night and day!

If he wants you to go just to run with him for fun, do it, who cares. Don't bet anything on it, just go to have fun. Who cares what other people think about your car.

3rd is a little tricky and i actually feel bad trying, i hate beatin on my car. but since our torque comes on so low i've actually been able to chirp 3rd at a somewhat low rpm. and to the guy sayin it's a night and day difference between the stock tire and better tires, my question is what tires did u go with? i drive the car all year round so i need tires that can be drivable in some light snow.

What trap speed?

I went low 13's @ 107-108mph if i remember correctly in my previous 4 banger

go to the track... have fun... but the tC isn't any type of performance car. I predict 16's for you
