u don't have 2 wait until it comes out 2 order the car, just get it now and go back 2 the dealer and get the superharger installed then. I can't wait either, eventhough i got a ticket yeasterday, i think the extra power will be a nice upgrade

I heard the supercharger was suppose to come out around jan 5th but thats what i heard i haven't read anything on facts... But u don't want to supercharge the Tc you will get more performance out of the turbo whenever that comes out...Remember always supercharge a 6 and turbo a 4

Dare I ask where you got that "rule" of thumb? While I agree, the turbo may have more potential it is not a matter of number of cylinders.

but i think supercharger would b better for the tc cuz it shifts so low in rpm, turbos r only good on cars that rev really high to get a big boost when shifting. thats why all old muscles are supercharged cuz they have low rpm while MOST imports use turbo from shifting at like 7000-9000rpm correct me if im wrong

No, it has more to do with the compression of the engine..

Another reason why the supercharger is better is becuase you keep your warranty on your BRAND NEW 17k+ investment!

...you're crazy to throw down that kinda money for a supercharger like that. Albeit, working for greddy definately has it's perks...but i still could not justify spending that kinda money for such little power gains.

So far I have heard 3 grand for the supercharger. That I do not think is unreasonable for what sounds like a 40-50 hp boost that retains full factory warranty.

factory warranties are great but remember the engine in stock form can hold the claimed 50hp; don't forget they will go conservative because it makes it easier on their warranty dept.

I play the numbers game, so i'll run stock internals and see what the turbo will push safely on an everyday basis. Then it'll be yanked for a rebuild...hopefully retaining as much of it's street manners as possible. I'm aiming for a conservative gain of 60-75 hp on low boost with stock internals for around town driving. Fully built, i'm hoping to see something in the 100-125hp range on high boost. We'll see...the engine doesn't rev as high as i would like to see for turbo applications, but it should still churn some damn good numbers.

Absolutely a properly designed turbo system that has no pesky warranty to work around will lay waste to any TRD offering. But the warranty will sell plenty of people on the conservative route.

It sounds like a mean machine you are building, but some people's priorities are more conservative. Will you be building kits or is this just a one-off for you?

i heard they'll also tune up a couple of stuff (replace parts) with the TRD supercharger. i guess to make sure it's capatible with the s/c??? including your warranty saved.

while if you grab a turbo from some manufacturer, theyll just give you the turbo and parts to connect it....

I think by tuned he is talking about the TRD S/C stage 2 & stage 3 kits thats been talked about some. You get more things in the package to help give more power. The basic tunning you could do is get a smaller pully on the s/c to give more boost.

Nope...more to come later.

Oh...and if you think you'll see 275hp from that engine with a TRD supercharger, YOU ARE FREAKIN' NUTS! It's an ok engine built, but i guarantee you won't see that with anything toyota throws onto it...tune job or not.

Stage 3 is rumoured to be power adders plus internals.

...rumors are great, but they don't get you dyno numbers. Get me some serious proof, and then we'll have something more to talk about. Until then...eat my psi.
