Car won't start, possible brake issue?
So this morning I got up and decided I would go run some errands in my '05 tC but when I got in my car and attempted to start my car, something odd happend.
When I turn the key I get a really odd clicking noise and the car will not start, at all. The other odd thing is that my brake is completely pressed and is locked in that position, so if I do put it in neutral or drive the car will not roll one bit. I am completely paralyzed and I have no idea what to do. And to make things worse I have plans to drive up to Sacramento (currently in LA) to see my girlfriend for valentines day so I need to get this fixed ASAP.
Any suggestions? I'd very much appreciate any help I can get right about now, very very very desperate

If your brake pedal is down the brake lights should be on too and that will kill the battery - charge it up and you maybe ok. The clicking sound is not enough juice to turn the starter motor over and the relay clicking in and out without enough power. Check your brake fluid level under the hood too!

get a big booster pack to jump the car, or hook up booster lines to a big truck and try jumping it.
if it doesnt work try tapping the starter with a rubber mallet while the car is cranked(make sure not to scratch the starter). (if you dont have a rubber mallet use a cloth to cover the started and tap it with something else, keep in mind its a tap, not wailing on it)

Was it down to the floor or just really hard to press? If it was hard to press then you just lost the vacuum boost which can happen if you press the pedal a few times after the engine is shut off and is no big deal. If it happens all by itself then you have a vacuum leak and that needs to be checked before you loose your brakes for real even with the engine running.
