Default Scion unreliable?

I know that i might didint search for this topic but i did for like 3 pages under the search but seem no solid one but a poll but its was a tease.

do you guys have problem that happen often with your scion cars?

name the problems and when you get it on which miles you are on?

BOTTOM LINE IS;.. do you tend to more problems with scion than any other brands like nissan, etc??

this will help made my decisions on trade in or keep the car. the car i was having my eyes on is 350Z and yes i can afford a new one.. 297 dollars a month?.. cheap

Before you spend your hard earned money on a new car, you should make an investment in your education first. Seriously, that gave me a headache...

Anyways, my scion is new (only 13,000 miles), but I've had no problems to date.

Rattles started at 33 miles. I want to tear my hair out when I drive my car without the music up.

My clutch started squeaking at 20,000 miles. When I clutch in, it squeaks VERY LOUDLY.

The interior scratched up when I put my system in.

No, not at all. Toyota & Lexus don't have any more issues than other brands, and Scions are Toyotas.

My car had a bit of a rattling in the hatch after 5K miles, but after 70K miles, that's still the only problem I can think of. Oh, wait, there's the squeeky HU flip-down lid cover thing.

Default 07 tC w/33K miles

I have an '07 which after several months has over 33K miles on the clock. No rattles, no problems. The car is built very well for it's price point. The features you get (both advertised and those you find after you buy the car) have performed flawlessly.

I believe the initial rattle issues were resolved in 07 and also could be attributed to how the car is driven just as much as how it's built.

Best value for the money.

I can't comment much on reliability, i've got just under 10k on my 07 without any problems.. a few rattles though, but that doesn't bother me. My gf's 06 has like 15k and it's been beaten on quite a bit without a problem. and I swear her's faster than my 07. She learned how to drive a manual on hers and the clutch and tranny are holding up like it's brand new.

I have a problem with my tC...I burn fuel. I only get 25 mpg driving through DC traffic daily. (ok, just kidding)...My 07 tC has about 12k on it, and I don't even hear the hatch rattle that others talk about, but then again I have my music up high 90% of the time anyway. It's a great car IMO. The only thing I would change is make a V6 option or make it a 6-speed...(or both )

I'd say keep it for now because you'd probably lose a lot of money if you tried to trade it. I looked into it myself, but the highest trade offer I got was $14k...and I dont like the idea of losing $3k...

Compared to a nissan it is the most reliable car on earth (sorry.. my dad nearly runs when he sees nissans coming into his shop... they are a nightmare once they get thier first issue typically)

As far as I have seen they are, just like any toyota. About the only thing I would compare reliability wise with a toyota would be a honda.

And by the way guys, a little silicone grease will solve that squeaky clutch pedal. I havent had an issue with mine, but those who have just lubricated the fork and it was good to go after the lube worked in.

After 39000 miles, my sunroof makes a very occasional noise and I had to have the hatch struts replaced (common on a heavy hatch). I have had it on numerous long (9.5 hours each way) road trips and autocross it.

2005 FM tC at 22,000 miles
ZERO problems! (if you can call a small rattle at the hatch that goes away after driving the car a mile a "problem".
.........Day and night compared to evil VWs!
I know I had one of those pieces of rolling junk before the tC.
Moving over to the Scion brand from VW reminded me that real cars still exists!
