Default Scions don't beep...

...when you leave the lights on?

Or is it just my car (it's a used 2007). I dunno, I just through it was weird that it doesn't beep when you leave the headlights on after you've turned off the car and gotten out. I'm used to kinda instinctively turning them on and off, but the little reminder still would've been nice.

Oh, another question. What's the best option to reduce heat in the car from the sun? After work when I get it the car, the wheel is so hot I can barely hold on when turning.

Oh, heh I guess I never checked. That's better than a beep.

Thanks.

Yeah...after I'd had my tC for a week or two, I forgot to turn off my lights when I got out to go in somewhere. Came back out and after starting the car I noticed the lights were on (which I didn't remember turning them back on). So I was like, wth??? Then figured this out, so now I just leave my lights on all the time lol.

the car came with really tinted windows, but obviously not the windshield. and that's where the sun comes in and kills my wheel.

Do those weird shiny things that people stick behind the windshield work? I don't know what they're called, but they look like this: http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...heatsheild.jpg

i would have to say....

park in the shade.

I have a similar situation, when i go to work, i have to park in an open lot from 8-5 which means its in the sun all day. I leave the sun roof cracked and i put on my windshield screen. i also take it a step further and point the car facing east so that the sun hits the rear of the car in the hot afternoon sun. but it would still be hot as hell once i get in. i do not have tint as of yet but will be getting it soon.

i now come to work early, 7am, and park in a little section that has tree shade for the better part of the afternoon. these spots are taken quick so thats why i get in early, plus i get to leave at 4 and beat most of the traffic.

if no shade, then that would suck. just go out and buy a steering wheel cover and wait until winter comes around.

i guess i'll just look for a steering wheel cover. the car itself doesn't get too hot, just the wheel.

and yea, there's absolutely no shade in my parking lot. heh.

that's the one that has metal on the top though isn't it? I just have the stock one, and doesn't really get hot at all.

One thing I do HATE about a lot of cars is that someone decided they need to beep and make noise about everything. Hugely annoying IMO. The scions alarm, key or lights make no beeping noise.. and I love it

i have a viper alarm on mine and it locks itself after 30 seconds of closing the door. very nice feature until you leave your keys inside and somebody closes the door. happend to me yesterday and to top it all off, they also set off the alarm. luckily i had my sun roof open and i was able to reach in and grab the keys.

this is what i did and it worked.

1. bought WeathTech rain guards so i could leave windows cracked.(they still look rolled up)

2. went to a tint shop and got limo tint all around and the kind that has 50% metal in it to reflect the sun.

3. went to toyota and bought a front Sun Visor.

in the end my car has never been cooler.

My car actually came with rain guards too. They are nice.

I'll look into a sun visor first I think, just cause my mom has a steering wheel cover and I don't really like it. Thanks for all the replies everyone!

get the front windshield tinted ,,, i think its called a brow.. i had mine done at seven inches and it makes the wheel less hot to the touch plus it makes the car a little bare in mind a little more secksy to... plus the sun shade for front window would help out with the ac not takin forever to cool all the plastic dash making your cool quicker wouldnt it...

The 07's like his (and mine) have the auto shutoff as well dude...and to my knowledge, all the year models do that, though I could be wrong. This is nothing new for the 08 model.
