Default Seat memory and adjustment

I recently found out something about the seats. I havent seen any post about this yet. Maybe I missed it.

Okay, occasionally some friends might get in/out of the back seats, and every time I lifted up little handle on the side of the passenger seat, the seat does go to the front and open a way for people in the back to get out.

BUT, when I try to put back/restore where the seat was adjusted to be, it doesnt go back to where it was. It just stuck right there, so my gf has to adjust the seat every time but the driver seat doesnt have the same problem!

the passanger side doesnt have memory seating. but if you push back the seat b4 you raise the seat back then it will go back to where it was...you will just have to adjust the seat back and not both.

Oh ic, I kinda guessed it doesnt have seat memory too bad!
Thats the seat that always being moved. I'd have thought both seats should have memory. I'd pay a little for that too!

yeah, i don't know why they put a memory on the driver's seat and not the passenger's seat, i think i moved the driver's seat twice since i got the car and i move the passenger seat like 2 times a day. i wonder how hard it would be to swap the memory function onto the passenger seat. i'll have to unbolt the seat when it gets warmer and check this out

ok here's my prob...

my seat memory is acting up. i know its only on the driver side.
but here sth thing. the seat always goes ALL the way back. even if i adjust it, then pull the lever on teh side, it doesnt memorize my position and again goes all the way back.

is there a way to reset the seat memory?

It's nothing complicatedly digital or whatnot. It's a simple mechanism. Figet with the seat here and there and see if it works again.

The "memory seating" in the TC is weak. I wish TC's would have real memory seating like that of Mercedes, but as someone mentioned to me in a previous thread I started, that mod would defeat the purpose of the TC being an "affordable" car....

I had a 1990 Celica and it had memory only on the passenger's side. I thought this was a bad idea since I was the only passenger and seldom used the passenger's side. I'd say that most people who drive sports coups are single passengers, so I'm glad Toyota moved the memory to the driver's side. I use it all the time.

If you hook it by the **** on the side, the one on the top of the seat, it makes re-adjusting a lot easier.

I know, you still have to grab the bar to slide it back, though.

I actually always let people out the Driver's Side--That way, I get to protect the door from dings while they get out.

Memory seats would be nice, if it was at the touch of a button like mercedes benz.
