Default The SEATBELT TRICK not working

I dont think that this trick works

this is an old post but many newbies have been asking for it so here it is.....

This is all you have to do and you will not de-activate your airbags or have to remove any wires.it works!!!!!
#1 turn on ignition and make sure the odometer is the active not the trip meters.

#2 press the odometer reset button for at least ten seconds.

#3 while holding the reset button plug the safety belt in.

#4 if you did this right the display will now read b-off and if you press the reset switch again it will say b-on.

It does... the part that I didn't get was that you have to start #2 within like 6 seconds of turning the key on.

See the FAQ: http://home.cfl.rr.com/icdedppl/faq.html#c6

I just ripped the speaker of the mother board when I was changing the led's for the gauge cluster, does that de-activate the air bags? Why does everyone always say sumthin about de-activating the air bags, what effects them that I should be weiry of?

If you're not wearing your seatbelt, why would you care about airbags? Obviously you don't care about your own personal safety anyway.

Don't be quick to judge people. they could have a legitimate reason for doing this:

I always back my car in my parking space at home and at work. I know some people use the mirrors when bcking up, but when I'm backing up inside a garage with limited visibility, I prefer to use my own eyes, not the skewed view of a tinted mirror. Due to my height and the angels on the car, it is nearly impossible for me to get my head out that window unless I unbuckle my seat belt.

Try that for a week: backing your car up without the seatbelt on, everytime you park the car. See how much it drives you friggin insane. I guarantee that you'll be itching to diable that annoying beeping as well

i turned my seat belt alarm off.
I ALSO wear my seat belt. in fact i feel naked without it.

therefore, i did not turn off my seat belt alarm because I don't want to wear my seat belt. I turned if off because I do not need to be reminded.

I wish that people wouldn't just assume that because somebody doesn't want the alarm they also, do not want to wear their seat belt.

think.

It took me about a dozen times to get this to work. Just remember...10 seconds is probably a lot longer than you realize..at least for us impatient types

Yes and no. If you start the car without your seatbelt on, it will beep to remind you. This beeping does eventually stop. What the above procedure does is turn off the beeping sound that occurs when the car is moving and your seat belt is off. This sound does not otherwise stop while the car is in motion (or has been in motion) and the driver's seatbelt is unbuckled.

no it does go off there are two stages of beeping the second one is a faster beep, but then it will go off. it's about 10-15 seconds.
I recomend trying this while going really fast and swerving, so much fun,

And before anyone flames me, I did a LOT of searching for this topic, nobody really could answer...
Does that not work on '07 models? I just got my tc 3 days ago. Tried the trick, and I get b-off abd b-on, but no matter how many times I select b-off, the seatbelt thingy still beeps. Is that just somethign for older models? Or do I have to do something else after I select b-off (like stick my left foot outside the right window, and my right foot through the sunroof, and my head through the hatchback, and my right hand opening the hood, and my left hand hitting the power button 15 times on the cd player while sneezing 3.5 times)

Once you select b-off, you should just be able to turn the key off again and be done. But I don't think there has been too much discussion around this and the 07s. Just make sure you do everything in the proper timing.

This FAQ link explains it the best with (with times and such): http://home.cfl.rr.com/icdedppl/faq.html#c6

I swear I've done this 50 times, and everytime I get the b-off or b-on. I select b-off, then take out the key, and unplug the seatbelt, (to see if it works), but everytime I put the key back in, the dern thing still beeps!

I wish I never knew that some people were able to turn off the beeper, than I wouldn't be so frustrated. I can't be the only person to not be able to turn it off.

I've tried it so many times trying the b-off and the b-on. Either way, the freakin' thing still beeps! I swear that I've following the directions to a T. I also tried it plugging both seatbelts in, and holding the brake pedal. Nothing works. ARGH!!!
