should i do it?
should i sell my 2007 tc and get a gsx1000? my girl say get it but keep the tc also. i dont want extra bills though since my tc cost me $665 a month and i got another year left on it. i want mad speed and 1/4 mile. how many mile does a street bike get on the motors life?
dude definantly keep the car and buy the bike its the same thing im going through right now, cept my car payment is 260 and insurance is 155, so im buying a gsxr 600 and just getting pl and pd on it, so it wont cost me much at all in insurance, thats where they get u with sportbikes
i choose to pay that ammount because i want it payed off quick. i've got a 2007 civic also. i've got a commercial hazardous material liscence but 5 suspensions on my liscence, so who know how my insurance would be.
if you are going to be irresponsible with the bike, you could crash and kill yourself, and not enjoy either your car or bike. i say keep the car, and keep on dreaming for a little longer. 665 a month for a sub 20k car is ridiculous. I would think about other options before getting that bike of yours.
Pay the car off before selling it, and I don't know how you managed a $665 / mo payment. Keep in mind, you can't do beer runs, it's hard to balance a case on the back of a bike much less carry anything bigger than a laptop. How will you go grocery shopping or pick up a pizza? There are useful reasons for keeping a car.
Can you refinance your auto loan to something a bit lower? Also, if it's your first bike, find a used GS500, it's a great entry level bike and still a lot quicker to accelerate than the tC. You can find them under 5 grand used. Or step up to the 650 or 750 if you have the cash, but I'd shy away from the 1000 as a first. It's a lot of money to crash and you won't notice much of a performance difference above the 750 outside of the track or drag strip.
If you must sell the tC, try and get a beater car along with the bike. It won't be sexy, but then again you'll only need to drive it when you're moving to a new place or picking up drywall, plywood, etc.

I don't think you have any idea wth you actually want or any idea wth you're doing.

Just a thought. Have you looked into getting a good starter bike before you work up to a 1000? I would have to recommend the Hyosung GT650R. It's a great learner bike that'll allow you to progress but not be held back as well.
Here is a review comparing it to the SV650

The price is the best part.
I purchased my GT650S(half fairing) for 5200. With that deal came free gas for a year which I use on my car. I get about 60-70 miles to the gallon and it's turned a lot of heads. They are new in the US so I get a lot of guys complimenting how it looks and asking who makes it.
Either way if you get a bike take the safety course and take it slow.
EDIT: Also it had a better warranty than Suzuki and not to mention Hyosung originally built a lot of the Suzuki motors and misc. parts.

Cant anybody read? He said his payment is so high on the tC cause he is paying it off quicker. I would pay off the tC before ya get the bike or sell the civic but damn dude your gonna get more tickets with that bike if you have 5 already with a tC and a cicic
I say... keep the car and try to get a bike as well.. thats what I did.. u will regret not having a car on rainy days or days when u just feel bummed out to ride... However.. if you're a new rider I HIGHLY DO NOT SUGGEST in buying 1000cc.. I started out and still ride a 600cc R6.. and that was truthfully too powerful already... Youll kill yourself... But anyways... bills come first and keep the car... you won't wanna get rid of you car just for a bike.. you need a back up car if do so... just my 2 cent..
If you buy the bike, be sure to sign the organ donor card at the DMV. The last two guys that splattered themselves on the back of a commercial truck I used to drive wasted some usable parts with their stupidity.
And how the heck do you still have a haz mat license with 5 suspensions?! If I were you, I'd probably concentrate on learning how to drive better on four wheels before buying another two.
Other than that, you only live once... buy the bike and be happy.

Only 1yr left on the tc?? If you can afford to have both at the same time, take what the payment would be on the bike and put that towards paying off the tc, then you can get the bike quicker
Dude, payments on the tC shouldn't be a problem. If they are, just wait another year to buy the bike. You don't need a bike. You also don't need $600+ payments in addition to bike payments at once. If you wait until your car is paid off and then finance a bike you'll basically be in the same situation as you are now but with smaller payments on the vehicle you're paying for.
