I like the TC since you can stick so much crap in the back once you fold the seats down. And it rattles just as much as my brothers Audi Allroad.

i have the NEW GTI and I love it its the best purchase i've ever made...its an unbelieveable car...JUST WARNING YA NOW once u drive u will buy it..i guarntee it...with the mods below u'll have a 260whp and 300lbs ft tq beast for only $2000 thats a high 13 sec car that drives beutifully

APR 93 Octane Softwar($500)
Techtonics Turboback Exhaust($1000)
Evoms V-FLow Intake($200)
Forge DV Spacer ($60) gives it a nice whossh sound from turbo
Eibach Pro Kit-($200)

But if u cant afford the base gti that goes for about $21,000 i would go with the Tc as my second choice not as fun as gti but nice..

Also dont worry about MPG on the gti its absouloutly great in gas due to the FSI technology vw/audi created i heard of a guy gettin over 40mpg while on a 400 mile road trip with his gti...and no u dont have to put super on the gti the fsi changes the timing in with the octane u put on u'll lose performance but will take it

exactly what i was going to say but didn't want to be so blunt. if you want performance, you'll get the gti. it's a great car...

what you should do is test drive both

Ever looked into a Mazda 6?.....

I wish I looked into Mazdas before getting the tC, Mazda 3 would have been my choice over the tC by far. I hope all goes well for ya man, later.

Engifineer said it.

Test drive. As a matter of fact, test drive everything you'd even mildly consider.

Then do some searches and ask around about the car.

being an owner of a tC, i'd say the tC is just OK. i'm not sure if your looking for performance or what not. but the tC doesn't perform too well. i mean it's pretty good for daily driving, but as far as actualy performance, i don't think too highly of it.

we all know about the glass roof and reclining back seats, but i kinda got bored with that stuff. i guess performance goes a longer way to keep the car interesting. the unique features of the tChas become old.

i personally like to keep my ride as stock as possible. i'm sure you can mod the tC to be a performance coupe though.

i don't like the charger much, not my style.

GTI i would avoid also b/c of their reliability issues. i drove the 06 gti and wasn't impressed with it, not sure what the big hype is about.

I'm not much of a VW fan but the new golf GTI has had some really good reviews by the motoring press. I'd say that was the better car of the three you originally listed, but the tC is most likely the best bang for your buck car in terms of features which come standard.

VW make one of the best engines in the world...look at the bugatti veyron..audi rs4....FSI Technology thats why they always win t he Lemans Races

Consumer Report- GTI was rated higher than the Si, Scion tC, WRX TR, Focus ST, Cobalt SS, , base Mini, RSX, Tiburon and Eclipse GS, and rated lower than none.
Just thought that I would share.

There's a neat movie too of the GTI being reviewed by BBC top gear here:
(not a very serious one but fun nonetheless) They say it's the best GTI since the MK1.
