Is the knocking a sound... or a feeling?

Regardles, if your engine is running, you aren't locked per se but you can make sure there is no water in there by removing your spark plugs and turning the starter over several times. This will give the cylinders a chance to eliminate the water by pressurizing the cylinder and shooting the water out of the spark plug holes. Leave them open and allow them to dry out completely. If you take it to the dealership now, they will know you got water in your engine.

Next, if it is still knocking, remove the valve cover and inspect the valves.

Things to do:
- Change the oil and oil filter (if you already havent)
- Put back your stock air box
- Clean your MAF sensor
- Check your O2 Sensor, if water went through your exhaust system, the 02 Sensor got damaged.

if u need to replace the engine just get a used engine from LKQ or w/e thats close to ur mileage. i had to do that too when my engine blew cause the guy who did my oil change forgot to lock the oil pan plug..

my original mileage was 18,000 but i got a 16,000 mileage engine from LKQ. the engine was about 1,700 bucks? cause i got a insurance quote of 3800 from the store that messed my car up and i took it to trustable store and they got the engine for less then 2g and the rest was for labor fee. plus they gave me 60k warranty on the engine and 10 free oil changes

and i dont think insurance will cover u for the fact that u went over the puddle ur self and its not a accident or anything like that.

but best of luck

Thanks for the advice king, I still need to drain and change the oil. This happened about 1AM this morning so there was no where to go, and now its a holiday so most shops and stores are closed. I had to buy a ticket to San Diego today for $160 b/c of school =/, so my car will just sit at home for now until my parents have it towed to a shop. If it does come down to a new engine, I wont be putting it in until the summer b/c I don't want my parents to pay for it and plus I think it's a perfect time to put in a turbo. Well I'll give you guys updates but I doubt there will be any for awhile. The sad thing is.... I just installed the F700bt in my car yesterday haha.... =/

i'm sure you can find a spare motor on here or at a junkyard. the camry's, rav4's and new 2.4L corollas use them.

*Update... So I'm going to have my car towed to Toyota Saturday to be diagnosed, we'll see how that goes...

I also called Auto HQ in Redwood and they said it's going to be $5000 for labor and parts b/c they said it'd be wise and cheaper to do a motor rebuild.

With that in mind and if Toyota says the same thing. I'm going to part out and sell it as is and get a 2003 WRX.

damn man....that sucks...good luck with everything!
before getting a bugeye go test drive one...i did and as much as i love subies the interior is way too small. seats seat very high. no sunroof. the backseat has no leg room, less than the tC. and make sure its not modded

Sorry to hear man. But yeah, test the WRX. They are real fun, my cousin has one an of 04 or 05, boost is very addictive. I think he racked up 5 speeding ticket in his first year.
But I will agree they are a smaller than you would think in side. I am a pretty skinny guy so the seats were fine for me and so was the interior.
But the biggest thing is get one that was not modded and has all the scheduled maintenance done on it. And if it has any mods make sure you remember it makes the car less desirable and cheaper. Even if it has a cold air intake or something point it out as a mod and ask for money off.

Good luck and sorry to hear about the tC.
