Default smell after s/mid pipe install??

the ongoing saga of my s/mid pipe install continues....haha.

so i FINALLY got everything in, and i believe, correctly. so now my question, theres a funny kind of smell, can't seem to describe it. and there appears to be a good amount of white smoke coming out of the exhaust now (tho it is cooler tonite, could be that)? is this normal? will it go away? did i do something wrong?

anything you guys can offer up would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Like burnt popcorn??! (seriously) If so , I had the same smell when i had my exhaust installed, I was told it was just a coating that they use to protect the metal during storage burning off.

Well, if you have replaced your headers and you have installed a mid pipe/s pipe you have omitted the catalytic converter. That smell is probably the combination of new pipe burn off and carbon monoxide. So don't sniff it for too long!

y'know, burnt popcorn is a very good description! haha...and yes, its starting to fade away.

sound wise? its significantly louder. its similar to what it used to be, just louder.
performance wise: it does seem to get the RPMs up quicker in 1st and 2nd gear, and i can feel a better pull in the 2k-3k rpm range. but all this is very slight (and could very well be psychological!).
