I feel exactly the opposite. The IS300 has tons of sound deadening...quieter smoother drive and just a lot more soft bulk to the interior.

The TC is louder and you can really feel the road more.

you know, to me its performance is alot like the the previous generation of Nissan Altima's or stock 240SX's with the KA24DE motors (since the performance specs are so close it makes sense).

Default gonna end this debate

ok, so i just crossed the 1k mile mark today, aka: time to start seeing what my baby can do... so im gonna see if my girlfriend wants to race tomorrow, and then we can settle this.

by the way, my girlfriend hasnt modded her engine in the IS300 and my tC doesnt have anything done yet either... so its gonna be barebone stock comparison.

I would like to know how well the tC keeps up with the Turbo charged golf (the little turbo one) and the Lancer rally art ( i think that one is around 170 bragging hp). I know people w/ both cars and they want to see who can do what but I would like to know before getting myself into it. Take into consideration that all 3 drivers (including me) know how to drive a stick well. i have a K&N intake and stock exhaust. I know that wont matter much (if any) but i know someone would want to know the specs of my car.

the GTI 1.8T walks from me from a 40+ roll, but from a dig, I can keep him at bay up until around 50.

The Lancer Rally Art is supposed to be the same as the tC in acceleration, but I think it's suspension is better.

I'm not sure why but I think the car feels really similar to a 3G (00-05) eclipse GT.. both acceleration and handling.

i got smoked by a 3g, and no i dont think they feel the same. The eclipse just takes off and keeps going, the tc seems to drag after every gear

well its an I4 (Inline 4)
its possible the 18 inch wheels made it seem like it was going slower than it actually does.
Those jettas are heavy, weighing around 3200lbs, and with only 180HP.
My friend Frank has a Jetta 1.8t and ive smoked him countless times.

hmmmm......

Maybe it accelerates like a lighter, more aggressively geared Toyota Camry?

Just a thought

I would not call any car in "our" performance range fast. They are just quick little cars...

While we are all racing in our little 4 bangers... moms are flying by in their V6 Maximas...
