Default So i was robbed...

ok so yesterday i was robbed. i parked my car and two random ppl came up to me asking questions about my car. after 5 min they guy held a knife and took my wallet. all they took was 20 bucks and he took my license id number name and address. that was it. is there anyway they could use my driver id for anything?

From what i know they can't do anything with that. As long as they didn't get any credit cards you should be alright. Just to be safe though i would call the DMV and ask them. Let them know and they might be able to black list the ID number so no one can use it for anything?

Either way, that sucks man. Sorry to hear that

They robbed you for 20 dollars? Seriously? What is wrong with people these days? I guess they dont have nothing better to do. Sorry to hear man, it coulda been worse.

But i agree with Irish, call your dmv. i really dont think they can do anything with it.

yeah thanks, i just called the dmv, and they said they cant really get far with that since theres no picture. And the only way the dmv can do anything is until they commit a crime of some sort under my ID.

I just want to point out you did the right thing here. It does not matter if it was 200 dollars, just give it up. If money can solve problems, then it is not a problem.

Def sucks to hear about that man, good thing is nothing else happened and are not hurt. Just curious how you got caught in the situation. I normally don't stick around after parking and when leaving, and am always scanning around looking for who's around.

my06tC, I'm the same when it comes to random people walking up to my car, I just crack the window open, even when I got pulled over last time I cracked the window down.

I agree with B3ccatc. They do now have your address. So I would make sure that for at least the next few months that you keep anything with any real value locked up in a safe or in a bank vault.

You did call the police didnt you? What you may not know, even though its only $20, since they threatened you with a knife its actually assault, which means theyll probably actually investigate it, as opposed to if they just broke in your car and stole $20, in that case the cops couldn't care less :/
