Default So Now I had to call Corp .

Ok. I am frustrated to all hell right now. So much so I had to call Scion Corp. Why? you ask. Well here is they story .

about a month ago I blow out a cig lighter fuse. Fine no problem. I change the fuse cig lighter is working again. 1 day passes, and my dash lights come on. First its the check engine light, then the tire pressures lights, then the brake light, air bag light. and speed o doesn't work. My alt is not charging the battery. Local Shop and now a Toyota Dealership, Can't figure out how to fix these problems 3 Alt, 2 battery's. who knows how many fuese, wires, ground, connectors checked. ECU swapped out and now no one can find how to fix this damn thing.

So I just got off the phone with Scion Corp spoke to a really nice dude named Adam, He started a case file on my car, which also had noted when my side air bag went off when I hit a pot hole at 25 mph, I was told I would get a call with in one business day. I hope thing get better really soon I hate not having my car .

So I had to vent to someone that might side with my pain.

If the airbag went off over a pot hole I'd be wary of keeping the car. It would suck to get in a frontal collision and have a defective airbag.

there was a TSB over a year ago that had the dealerships replace the side airbag sensors...

i guess the OP didn't get the memo?

i had the same problems, about 3 times, but it was a simple fuse. check under your dash and pull out a white 25Amp fuse in the corner. that was the culprit for me.

Funny you say that. I got a call today from the dealership. They tell me they finally found what was wrong. It was 3 fusses that where causing a short. well that is great, problem finally found . But here is the shocker.

Alt, new tensioner plus 8 Hours labor = $1,120

Yea I did call Scion Corp again. I wanted to know why this took 8 hours to fix. When I dropped the car off to them, I explain what should be replaced and what should be checked. Alt, Fuses and relays. If this was done this car should not have taken 8 hours to be fixed. Well the guy at Scion Corp said he is waiting on a call from the service manager.

I'm super ____ed right know. I guess i'm more ____ed that I could have fixed this my self. If I didn't have a messed up shoulder and Had a free time and transportation to go back and frother from the parts store to get what I needed.

did you put in the right size fuse in when you replaced it initially?
some people will put a higher amp fuse when their 10 amp fuse (or w/e) keeps popping... doing that is very very bad for your electrical components as you have just got rid of your circuit protection (fuse), and if something in the circuit is drawing too much amperage and you have no fuse or protection, you can fry the whole circuit... but if you put the right size fuse then i dunno what the problem could be...

1 tip for everyone though: when a fuse pops, if you put another fuse in and it pops again, you got a bigger problem. Lets say you got a 10amp fuse, and something in the circuit is making the current spike to 15 amps, your fuse will pop to create an open in the circuit thus not allowing the high current to reach the components... your fuse is what protects all the components in that circuit, DO NOT put a higher amp fuse in to correct the problem coz all youre gonna do is fry everything that fuse is protecting...

The more you know... haha

I know some of you already knew all that but this is for the people that didnt know...

holy crap that is straight up ridiculous. did your alternators and tensioners have ANYthing to do with the problem? or was it solely the fuses?
